Okay, ladies, here's the low down:
As a few of you guessed, I didn't get a relaxer, but I was so excited in my attempts to straighten my hair. I decided that if I rollerset my hair first, to knock out some of the kinks, sat under a dryer until my hair was finished then proceeded to flat iron, I would get the look I so desired-WRONG!!! Something is terribly wrong with my ends, eventhough it doesn't look that way when my hair is in its natural state. My ends are frizzy and this is the reason why my hair style didn't come out as planned. I had to keep going over and over the ends, but still at no avail. I just gave up completely with trying to straighten, plus it is almost 12:30am here. One good thing did come out of this whole ordeal: WGO is the BIZZOMB!!! I have pics in my album, in the third year section. Now mind you, I didn't finish, so that is why one side is longer than the other. Sorry to have kept you ladies in suspense. I just thought that this time, my efforts would have been worth anticipating (for myself, too) but I guess not.
Sincerely hair depressed,
Bubln.

There is NUTHIN" for you to be depressed about!!:nono:
You have a full, thick, GAWJUS head of hair, but I understand what you're talking about:kiss:

speechless... :nono:
I think I can figure out how to say: GIRL, YOUR HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL!

okay, I'm going to bed. I guess I'll dream about hair.

Aww, don't feel down. There are many of us who haven't even attempted what you have. It definitely gets better the more you do it, and you get more ideas everytime. It took me quite some time to get it how I wanted it. I love your length girl, you must be treating your hair real well :D .

Yes, please don't get all depressed on us. I think you really want to relax, and you know better than any of us what it is you really want ;) , I say follow your gut feeling and make the best out of it, :Rose: :Rose:

uh if u used WGO that may have been the problem with ur ends...puffiness...they do not look ragged from ur pic...

try a pressing creme when u flat iron...

Bubln, your hair is gorgeous regardless of what style you wear. I love your hair!!!

Uh!! I can't see the pics!! (yahoo is blocked at my work).
I love the signature picture, though I'd like to get my hair looking like that!!:)

I agree with the other ladies, you should not be depressed your hair looks beautiful either way. You are so hard on yourself.

It looks alright...I mean if you really want to try the straight look, you can't find a stylist to do a blow-out? I know u said there are no Dominican salons near you, but Dominicans aren't the only salons that do blow-outs.

Agreeing with NYCQT16. I couldn't do a straight blow-out or flat-iron on my natural hair to save my life. Some of us have to go to a professional to get that look. I'm not sure if it's that our hair is too resistent or we just don't have that skill, either way, I'd settle for what you can do (which is very pretty) or persist in finding a professional to do it. Don't give up though.

Mrs. Brown,

Your hair is so beautiful to me, you can't fix something that is perfect. What are you TRYING TO DO...GO BALD?????? Give your hair and YOURSELF a BREAK already, before you end up with a mess on your hands. Hey I'm just being honest, if you end up bald (assuming your not going for the bald look) then you'll really have something to be depressed about. If its a new style that you want then save up some money and treat yourself. Or get a weave for crying out loud that way you can afford to pass a pressing comb through it five times and rest easy.

I agree with BWE. Do what is best for you. Either way your hair is beautiful and will be. As you know there are many ladies on the board who are natural or relaxed who have pretty, long, healthy hair. It is a personal thing. We love ya either way

I actually like how it came out, I'm the queen of big hair :antlers: What color do you have in your hair?

I had professional highlights done (brown), then I tried Lights and Brites hair color (stainer) for a more reddish brown look. You can see the color in that pic?

Oh I may try the lights and brites, the jazzing did nothing for me but I expected that...yeah I can see the color, looks nice on you!

bubln,
I had the same trouble when I straightened my hair (as you can see by the gigantic hair in my pics). It didn't do the sleek straight thing. Your ends really do look fine they are just being stubburn.

My third year anniversary is comming up next month so I may try and straighten it again. once a year is enough for me, its way too much work and not worth the strain on my shoulders and back.

I don't know if you used a flat iron or a pressing comb but if you don't want to relax and you want that relaxed look, I truly think a pressing comb is the only way to achieve that. just make sure the person that does it is good and you trust them cause pressing combs are scary to me!!!

Mines too...I find that the only way they really come out sleek is if it is relaxed, or someone else straigtenes it for me, I also find that using very high heat causes my ends to frizz faster and making the ends drier.

Whatcha talking bout bubbln? Your hair looks full and gorgeous! I would have rocked that hair with pride and call it a style. :)

 STOP IT RIGHT NOW....STOP IT....
Your hair makes me want to cry. I believe there is a "Hair God." I am sorry; I did not even read all of the posts. I just saw your hair and had to stop and say I loved it. Your are one of those people who thinks their hair looks like a hot mess, while an onlooker is saying, "that's hot, I want hair like hers."
