I AM GETTING REAL TIRED OF BEING TEXLAXED

Well ladies i sat in the mirror for like a hour to looking at my hair and it looks really healthy being texlaxed ( i will modify my usage of heat from 3 times a month to like once a month) i am just too chicken to relax straight
its just that i was really frustated with my hair this week
i look at every body hair on this site and i am like how do they get their hair to look so shiney plus i get aggravated because i want bsl length hair now now now now darn it!!!!!!! i know i know i have to be patient
i am trying Kinicakes co wash routine i am airdrying as we speak (using scarf method)
and the funny thing is like 4 different women came up to me asking what salon do i go to for my roller sets when i explained i do it myself they want to know my routine when i tell them i wash /dc weekly they give me this look  i am thinking to myself all this time people were admiring my hair and they dont say anything why?

I think you would be better off relaxing straight. Because with the texlaxed you are doing a double whammy to your hair: chemicals + heat on a regular basis. If you just give in and do a full relaxer then you are only applying chemicals on a regular basis. It'll be much easier on your hair and probably better for your peace of mind.;)

I posted this to someone who wanted to straighten their hair and was natural or texturized and a few posters jumped on me. If you enjoy the straight look and it's helpful to have a relaxer do it. The heat to try to achieve the look is not worth it. Straighten with relaxer and keep it healthy. Don't abuse the chemicals.

say it again..cuz I need to know as well!

I found making sure my rollersets are completely and totally dry makes a big difference. If even one of those puppies is still moist all my curls fall and what's left puffs up.

Texlax is da BOMB !

And texlax is a royal PAIN !

My hair, is thick thick thick with texlax. Full almost like a wig , really. WITH length.

But, myhair is soooooooo hard to tangle being texlaxed. And, it takes he HOURS to do it, to keep it soft and less tangly.

But you know me...on with the thick, texlaxed, long hair ! :) :p ;)

Wait don't do it. I feel there are percentages of texlaxing. I was texlaxed about 50% (hair was still very kinky and tightly coiled) and it was a hassle. I went about 80% texlaxed and I am much happier. Instead of going bone straight and risk loosing you elasticity try relaxing your newgrowth a little longer and at the end overlapping the relaxer on your ends and smoothing for a few minutes longer. I still have my curl pattern but the humidity is not much of a problem, plus detangling is easier. I still have some wave to my hair when I wash and wear and it's is still thick, strong and healthy.

This is exactly what I am doing. I think I was 50% tex and after 8 weeks...Was no difference to being natuarl. I am going for 80/85% and doing a corrective to the rest.

Three years ago, before I started going to a salon on a regular basis I was texlaxed.

My hair was the healthy, thick and long.

Now after 3 years of going to a salon, all I have to show for bone straight hair is thin, long weak hair.

My goal is to transition to texlax.
