I am confused...wave and coil next to each other?

If this question sounds weird excuse me I am fighting off a cold on the eve of my departure.
I have hand in hair disease and while roaming I found a wavy strand AND a coily strand NEXT to each other!!!! I was like WHAT  I felt again and there was one wavy strand among a sea of coily. Never knew that could happen. Am I the only one with this occurrence?

 No you're not!!

I've got lots of coils and sporadic instances of waves, although mostly my waves are in the crown area and coils are every where else.

This is normal, most people have several hair textures on one head. My sides above my ears my entire back section and my front are all different from my middle section which has all the coils.

lol! my daughter has a head full of 4a/b hair and a PATCH of straight hair at the top of her head.

i thought it was so strange until i found this site

Ain't nuthin' new- don't feel like you're an alien or something, lol!
The front of my hair has a texture that resembles a worn out, exhausted curl and that goes into the crown of coarse, almost wirey 'Z' strands which works into the back and nape which is silky, loose curls.
Honey, it's a workout keeping up with all that.

Hey twinie:

Check out the photos in my last photo album (III)...you can see wavy next to curly next to coily next to undefined frizz.

You are not alone! The nape of my hair has loose coils. An inch or so up is tighter coils, the top is 4b the front is 4a. Isn't that so strange to have a head full of different hair textures?

I think it has to do with how you style your hair. I know when I was transitioning my front of my hair was pressed. It caused heat damage. So the front was straighter where as my nape hair is trully all natural. I also notice that the back really coils up but the middle is more of a frizzy, wave pattern. Natural hair can be so unpredictable.

I don't think I have two strands of hair that are the same! They bend, wave, curl and coil in different directions... :D

It may be in some cases, but in general most people have different textures runing through their hair. I never just pressed part of my hair; it was either all or nuthin'. My hair has been confused all my life though...

My hair is quite confused, that's why I've given up on typing my hair. I believe I have 3c, 4a and 4b textures.

Girl, our hair has it's own mind. You'll see that I have 50 million different textures...never a dull moment!

LOL at the last line. The hair stylist seemed to think my different texture in the front came from the pressing comb. I guess my hair and me are confused too.

I have copme to believe that typing hair is just a way to drive ourselves insane! My hair basically says screw Andre and his hair chart! If you say my head you'd be happy to only have 1 patch of waves amongst some coils.

I'm also a member of this club. My hair is predominantly two different textures with a couple of miscellaneous textures thrown in to keep things interesting.
