I just purchased this today and would like to know how long do you all leave it in your hair? The directions say to leave it in for only three minutes. Does anyone leave it in longer? Do you use heat? Do you use another conditioner as a deep conditioner or just the Humectress alone? I would appreciate as much information on this product as you all are able to provide. Thanks in advance.

I have tried Humectress as a deep condit with heat for 20 mins and didn't really like the results. Now for my conditioner washes (left in for about 5 mins or duration of shower)I love it!It moisturizes and detangles quite nicely. It does a much better job for me when left in for shorter periods.

I use it as a leave-in. Just a little in my hair after I have washed and conditoned it. Then top with a little oil, and I am good to go.

I've been using it for years on my relaxed 4a/b hair and I love it. I use it as a deep conditioner after every wash (2x per week)and leave it on for 30 minutes with a plastic cap (I don't have a hair dryer). I love the way my hair feels - very, very moisturized and I detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb while rinsing the Humectress off. It's so easy to detangle also after this deep conditioning, at least for me.
Afterwards, I apply the Headress as a leavein which detangles it even more (actually it's already detangled by then). This is the only thing I agree with Shamboosie about in his book, that Humectress is magic for relaxed hair and always leave it on for 30 minutes, not 3 minutes as it says on the bottle. However, I've learned on this board that not all hair types respond the same to Humectress.

Im w/ the rest...it's one of my staples but only feels slippery if I leave it on for 3 to 5 mins in a steamy shower. Any longer and it loses its "oomph".

I use it and love it. I had taken a break from it and just used it again last week for my mid-week no-poo (CWC) wash, and couldn't recall why I'd ever stopped. My hair felt wonderful. I usually leave every conditioner on my hair for no less than 20 mins, under a heating cap (so I get steam heat).

I used to use it everytime I had my hair done at the salon, but haven't used it in the past few months. Ironically, my mother just told me that I should buy some more, because she read somewhere that is is one of the best moisturizers.

I have been trying to curtail my habit to buy every, single product that I see, and use what I have, before buying another bottle of anything, but I may have to get some Humectress.

I've been using it since the age of 19. Nexxus was the first line of products my cousin used after giving me my first relaxer. Since then I've always used it as a leave-in. It's my first leave-in recommended choice.

I see some of you use it as a leave in. I didnt know it could be used that way. How often do you use it as a leave in? daily, weekly, every two or so day? How often? Do tell. Thanks for the replies ladies.

I use as a leave in after every shampoo & condition session to help detangle my hair. Works really well for me. And I also mix with a little oil and put on my strands, especially my ends to keep them moist about every other day.

It's just an ok conditioner to me. There are others that are even better. Didn't work great for me as a leave in because it left a lot of residue.

I put EVOO in it and I put my concoction in for 30 minutes under a heating cap and then rinse out. My hair feels wonderful afterwards.

I've been using it off and on for 2 years after reading Shamboosie.

i don't rinse out my humectress. it's the bomb for the curly pin-ups in my pics. it works wonders in the summer, truly. i keep it stocked & i've been using it for 11 years, since my first relaxer at age 19.

I left it on for 5-10 minutes and my hair came out very nice, plus if I remember correctly you can use it as a leave in.

I use Humectress A LOT of ways, I use it for 5-10 minutes while in the shower and rinse out, I let it sit for 30-40 minutes without heat and 15-20 minutes with heat, I also use it as a leave-in and its great any way I use it.

I forgot to mention that not only do I not rinse it out when I apply it, I also use it sometimes to rollerset my hair when I have the time to airdry. My hair looks like a bob full of curls and that's how I wear it.

I forgot I even had this conditioner I only left it on on for 5 min when I used it will try using heat next time.

its nice to know humectress is still the bomb when only left in for 3-5 minutes. i'll be doing that in the summer when i start washing my hair in the shower.
