:ohwell: I washed with my relgular monday routine of hyrdating poo, deep condition with humecto for 20 mins. Usually my hair is soo soft. I didnt have my salerm leave in, but usually my hair is so soft it doesnt feel like it needs one. I clarified two weeks ago with the 1st lather so there was no need to do it agaon so soon. The same hard feeling occured on my thursday wash , i was waiting to see if i was just suddenly doing something wrong. Man my hair felt like hardwood:ohwell: Is it the cones? Should i try something else? Has this ever happened to you ladies?:perplexed

Hmmm, I don't know, Humecto never made my hair hard. I don't think it is the cones because the cones in Humecto are water soluable. Maybe you need to clarify again.

Humm, I've been using Humecto for a nearly a year and just figured out it was making my hair dry dry dry! I read a post with someone saying humecto was the culprit for their dry hair but becasue I go so much slip from the conditioner when my hair was wet - I never suspected my beloved Keracare Humecto was drying me out :nono:. I alternate between ORS Hair Mayo and Humecto. Well for my last moisturizing conditioning I decided to skip the Humecto and try NTM Mask and viola dryness is gone! Thank goodness I didn't buy the 5 lb tub I've been eyeing.....just goes to show you not everything works for everyone. Humecto was very deceptive for me...just like this...:angeldevi

There's a great post for those who's hair doesn't agree with Humecto. It list conditioners ladies have found sucess with who's hair doesn't agree wth Humecto.....

I have been using it for a deep conditioner and I dont get any slip with it. It seems to do nothing unless I mix it with another conditioner. BTW, It does not make my hair dry. I think this will be my final purchase of this one. :ohwell:

I have always mixed humecto with an oil while DC'ing, I wonder if that is the reason why I NEVER experienced dryness.

Do you have hard water? I have found that when my conditioner stops working and it did before its usually because:
1 I need to clarify. If I clarify and my hair is till hard its because:
2. Hard water build up. I would try sally's thay have a hard water shampoo and conditioner. I would try that then retry your conditioner. My hair usually becomes baby soft (and this is with my hair in its natural state)!

HTH!
Let us know what happens!:)

Humecto made my hair hard, too. The mineral oil dried my hair up so bad.

Okay call me slow if you will, I have never really paid attention what makes my hair hard and what not...I always concentrated on stopping the breakage and I have succeeded in that....I am going on my second tub of humecto but I don't use it all the time...everyweek I use a different conditioner....I will pay attention next time I use humecto and see. My hair does get dry though but I thought I just needed a good moisturizer, still haven't found that moisturizer that keeps my hair moisturized all day....how do you feel about kenra....I am going to purchase that and see how my hair feels after using that versus the humecto:confused: I still have alot to learn about my hair...because to be honest with you I don't know if my hair like cones or not, if my hair like waterbased products or oils...I just don't know...all I know is that it's healthier than last year...but I'm going to find out these things because I wanna know.:)

My hair and I are best friends. I know what it likes and doesn't like. To figure it out, I did a huge trial and error. From that trial and error, I figured out what my hair liked and didn't like. I don't even look at products with ingredients that my hair doesn't like anymore. I think that Honeydew uses Kenra. I've never used it before, but I LOVE Elucence MB Conditioner. I had to configure it for it to work as a rinse-out. I put tons of EVOO in it, and last night I put 12oz of bottled water in the liter of Elucence, and my hair was silky. Perfect!!! I've now found most of my staples.:D Keep a journal and write if your hair liked or disliked a product, and see what ingredients the products had in common that your hair liked or disliked. HTH some!

Yah, I will do..don't get me wrong...it's not breaking or anything and actually is growing and it's healthy...I just want to know my hair like you ladies do...you know what I mean?:) but I really don't think I'm going to change my regimen cuz it's definitely working for me.

Don't change!! I had to do that whole trial and error because my hair was kicking my butt. It IS nice to "know" your hair, though. If your hair ever gives you problems, definitely do the trial and error.

Yep, I've decided to throw out my (almost empty) bottle of KeraCare Humecto. I stepped away from it for a few weeks and used my other moisturizing conditioners (Shea Butter Cholesterol, DPR-11 and Kenra) and my hair maintained it's moisture for a few days.

Well I decided to revisit Humecto because of all the praises from LHCF members. Well once again once my hair dried there was no moisture:perplexed ......yet another example of not everything working for everyone....oh well:(

Oh No!!!!! Not Humecto. Say it aint so. Well, like they say...eveything aint for everybody. Aveda Brilliance Line did nothing for me. So, I know how you feel....:(

Humecto made my hair hard and dry as well. I used it for a while way back when and discovered it was not good for me.:(

I had the same issue with humecto, I can't wit to finish it up. i must find something to mix it with first though.

Do you know that I used Humecto...in the tub....;) for two years...and always praised it...but something was still off to me...and I may not have noticed initially because I'm a mixologist and I always mixed Humecto with something else...

Well I was moaning to my godsister about my hair and the products that I was using, thinking it's time to change things up...because I'm not seeing as quick a difference with my hair as I feel I should have.

Well, as I was nearing the end of the most recent tub of Humecto I had...I decided to use it straight...and I was complexed as to why I was feeling a different effect....then I was reading about some ladies having issue with it on the board. It's not a cone issue...cause I love me some cones...I don't know what it was.

But my godsister and there were some big ups as well on the board about Motions Moisture Plus...so I decided to invest in a tub of that instead of the Humecto - maddddddddd cheaper son!

And my hair has absolutely fallen in love with it and it is now a staple, it works straight and even better mixed with other product.

I feel no need to go back to Humecto - I think Humecto -- in the tub -- is an excellent product, just didn't agree with me as well as I initially thought...used straight anyway. Sometimes trial and error takes longer than I thought..:ohwell:
