HI LADIES I'M NEW. I'VE BEEN READING YOUR POSTS
SINCE MAY AND DECIDED TODAY WOULD BE THE DAY TO
GO FOR IT AND BECOME A MEMBER. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT
HUMECTANTS. I THOUGHT I READ ON ONE OF THE OLDER POSTS ABOUT HOW TOO MUCH CAN CAUSE BREAKAGE. CAN SOMEONE ELABORATE ON THIS A LITTLE OR REFER ME TO ONE OF THE PREVIOUS POSTS THAT COVERS THIS TOPIC.

THE REASON I'M ASKING IS BECAUSE A WHILE BACK I USED THE BAGGIE METHOD WITH HUMECTRESS AND LEFT IT IN MY HAIR OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT DAY I HAD A LOT OF SHEDDING AND MY HAIR FELT WEAK AND FRAGILE. I HAVE 3C 4A HAIR TYPE THAT IS RELAXED.

Has it been a long time since you did a protein conditioner? You can over-soften your hair...perhaps you only need to do 15-20 minutes or so on the Humectress. I have found that even 3 minutes with Humectress (as the bottle instructs) is sufficient, especially if you are washing and conditioning at least twice a week or more. Hope this helps..

Hey Yotegra, maybe you can do a search. At the top right had of the page, click on search and type in humectant, then click submit at the bottom. It should come up. Good luck.

THANKS AERIE AND DEBYJAY FOR RESPONDING. I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT.......I DO CONDITION WASHES DAILY AND I THINK I
OVERCONDITIONED AND THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED MY HAIR TO BREAKDOWN....

welcome, yotegra!

i've never tried the baggie method with a conditioner. so that may have caused your problem. try it instead with curl activator and a heavy pomade (i like vaseline) on your ends.

oh yeah, typing in all caps is considered yelling in netiquette.

Thanks guys for the info about the Caps key.....
Sorry, I didn't know. About the baggie method, I read about it on one of the posts here. One of the other members tried it. She said that she wears a phonytail with a baggie on the end of her real hair and then puts the phonytail over it to keep her ends moisturized. I was just thinking, wouldn't that break your hair off by keeping your hair too moist.
