length (of nape, compared to hair):
i'm past shoulder length, and my nape is mostly about three inches long. some pieces are caught up with the rest of my hair, though.

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
i'm relaxed. not bone straight, though.

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
my nape is texlaxed. i don't want to relax it fully until it's a bit longer.

density:
mine is very thick, like the rest of my hair.

are you satisfied?:
NO! it's not long enough yet!

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
right now, i'm just leaving it alone, and it's doing pretty well! once i get another 2 or 3 inches, i'll do a blunt cut to make it all the same length (my nape), and then i'll be happy.

length (of nape, compared to hair):
shoulder length with layers, my nape is two and a half to three inches long.
status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
natural

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
natural

density:
very thick

are you satisfied?:
NO! but its coming along
if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
I'm just keeping it extra moisturized and leaving the gel off that area when I bun my hair

length (of nape, compared to hair): between 1/2 - 1 inch compared to 3 inches every where else.

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?): natural

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?): natural

density: Thick. Same texture as the rest of my hair.

are you satisfied?: Heck no. It needs to hurry up and catch up with the rest of my head but it is filling in a little bit.

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything): Putting growth aid on it. "Bee Mine Growth Serum" and castor oil daily. Im trying to leave it alone. Extra moisturizing. Low manipulation.

Length (of nape, compared to hair):
I'm at SL my nape is...coming along. LOL.

Atatus of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
I'm Relaxed...but stretching (6 wks post)

Status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
My nape is relaxed and I think that's the problem. I think I was breaking because I was overlapping.

Density:
My nape is thick.

Are you satisfied?:
No--I'm not satisfied.

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
I am stretching my relaxers and leaving the area alone. In 6 weeks I'm going to begin evening my hair out little by little.
So that I can grow to APL at one length...

length (of nape, compared to hair):
I'm APL, but the nape is collarbone length

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
transitioning from bone straight

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
transitioning like the rest of my hair

density:
thin and breaking

are you satisfied?:
NO! it's raggedy looking

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
I'm trying to leave it alone as well

My nape is great. If the rest of my hair was just like it I'd be set.

length (of nape, compared to hair):
almost BSL

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
relaxed

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
relaxed but I do that and the front last because it's a looser texture than my crown so it doesn't need much

density:
finer than the rest of my hair.

are you satisfied?:
yes I've always loved my nape don't have any problems with it

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
n/a

length (of nape, compared to hair):
My nape is a little past SL, the rest of my hair is APL

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Relaxed-bone straight

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Relaxed-not bone straight

density:
Fine

are you satisfied?:
No, it's too short, and waaaaay too dry

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
When I poo, I don't lather too much on my nape. I always put extra conditioner and moisturizer on my nape. And when I relax I always relax my nape last

Length (of nape, compared to hair):
When my hair is styled and dry, it’s an inch or two below my ears and my nape is that length as well.

Status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Relaxed, not bone straight.

Status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Same as above

Density:
Thin, like everything else.

Are you satisfied?:
*sigh* Yes and no. I had some breakage in the past (no), but it’s growing back in rebounding quite nicely (yes).

If not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
I’m making sure to keep the area hydrated (since the coarse texture and dryness contributed to breakage the first time around).

length (of nape, compared to hair): between 1/2 - 1 inch compared to 3 inches every where else.

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?): natural

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?): natural

Is that working for you? I use the ORS temple balm and have been looking for something to put on my nape as well.

When I was natural my nape was the longest part of my hair AND thick! But now that I'm texlaxed I have to be soooo careful, it's really easy to overlap back there if you do it yourself. Now I barely hit it with my mixture of texlax Mizani - less than 3 minutes on the back. This has helped tremendously and now it's about even with the rest of my hair. About three full inches from APL.

length (of nape, compared to hair):
My nape is about 1/2 inch long. I kept it cut off for the longest, but now I'm letting it grow out.

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Fully relaxed.

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
When I get touch-ups, I usually get my nape done also. But it only stays straight for about three days.

density:
Very thick, coiled and dry.

are you satisfied?:
Not really. My nape always looks dry, slightly lighter than my hair and the texture is much different from my relaxed and natural hair. It also grows down towards my back more than I would like.

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
Nothing, because I have no clue what to do with it.

Oh yeah I forgot that I wanted to reply to this the other day...

length (of nape, compared to hair):
It's about 1 inch shorter than the rest of my hair, maybe even an inch and a half to 2 inches.

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Relaxed (but not bone straight)

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Same as the rest of my hair. I'm finding that the hair back there is a lot coarser than the rest of my hair. It's about 4b back there and finer than the rest of my hair - or should I say more delicate. My hair overall is a mix of 3c/4a.

density:
Thick, like the rest of my hair, many strands as far as density. But just grows slow and prone to breakage.

are you satisfied?:
Not totally, I want it to be even to the rest of my hair. I think it also grows slower back there...

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
MOISTURIZE MOISTURIZE MOISTURIZE!!! I really focus my conditioner back there as well as some coconut oil. I decided the best thing for my nape was to give it a needed rest, so I added 2 tracks to put it away for a while. I like it because I now don't have to worry about my hair rubbing against my clothes etc... Don't know why I didnt think of this solution before, lol. I treat the tracks like the rest of my hair, with TLC. The hair underneath that are in braids (I have it sewn in) gets lots of conditioner and again, I oil up with coconut oil and I'm good to go.

My nape is the easiest part of my hair to grow. I generally neglect it for the most part but it still thrives. I am natural.

length (of nape, compared to hair):
It's the same length as the rest. I have a bob that's grown out to neck length

status of hair overall (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
Fully relaxed.

status of nape (texlaxed, fully relaxed, natural, other?):
same

density:
it's less dense (# strands) finer (thinner hairs) and softer

are you satisfied?:
No. It's hard to deal with. I sweat there when I exercise and I think too much salt + my leavein = trouble

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
It's the only place I have to shampoo before cowashing. When I shampoo it, it instantly detangles! In between cowashes, I have to leave it alone.

ETA - I'm going to try braiding it up at night

My nape and the hair in the back of head is the finest quality of my hair and it rarely tangles, its actually the curliest part of my hair.

[B natural[/B]

mine is very thin.

are you satisfied?:
NO! I am tired of it breaking, growing then breaking again!B]

if not, what are you doing to help it (if anything):
Leaving it alone, but I do fear that it is a never ending battle. It grows then breaks off and I am natural.
