Anyone not in their teens, IMO. Children don't need wigs unless they have serious hair problems.

Hmm... if my sons wanted lace front wigs I think their dad would have a little problem with that .

Seriously though, I can't see buying a wig for child unless she had her hair fall out due to chemo or something else of that nature. The concept of buying a wig or some hair is very foreign to me, when I was growing up, wigs were for little old ladies :look: , cancer patients, and I guess you might wear a wig if you were in a play or something...

I know little girls like to dress up, I sure did, but I'd rather teach a daughter how to care for her own hair. In my opinion, putting wig on a little girl (not just for dress up play) is like telling her own hair isn't sufficient, it needs to be hidden. That sends a bad message to child.

I've also heard some horror stories about the toxicity of the glue used to apply those wigs and I wouldn't use it on myself, let alone my baby.

the only exception would be if they have serious hair problems,,,orrr...... if they model or act.. otherwise i really dont understand why a child would need a wig..

I have to just be honest. I think that sometimes it's easy to say what I wouldn't do while I am not in someone else's shoes. Some people set age limits for children to get certain things done to their hair. Personally I think perms and applying heat are acceptable if the child is over six-years-old and IF the person knows what she/he is doing (It is possible to have healthy relaxed hair). If I jacked up my baby's hair with a bad perm, I wouldn't want her to attend school bald-headed or with really fried and damaged hair and get made fun of everyday until her hair grew back (And trust me--school kids can make you cry and break you down). And we know how long growing hair can take. So I might let my baby wear some kind of weave while we got her hair back on track. I think numerous parents have made mistakes in their child's hair-care past--I know my mama did. But she couldn't help it, that's what was done to her. A lot of people really don't know all the rules of hair care and what they Think they know is wrong. But I'm so glad that I have done my research and I am going to take good care of my baby's natural hair.
