How You Know You've Truly Arrived - UPDATE W/PICS

Okay, so I've been waiting on the day when I finally get to feel that I have 'long hair'. Well ladies, that day has arrived. I know it might not be long to LHCF standards (still couple inches from BSL), but it sure is long to me. lol Sorry I hope this doesn't sound like i'm bragging. Its just that I'm really excited.

I was planning on straightening my hair for my vacation in two weeks, but I went ahead and did it last night because I'm going on a business trip and will be sharing a room with someone so I needed my hair to be easy to comb. I have a chi, but decided to use my sister's sedu, because my chi doesn't have temp control and it always fries my ends. Last night, I cowashed, moisturized my hair, put a little chi silk infusion and nexxus heat protect. then I put my hair in several ponytails and rollerset the ends. When I went to my sisters house, her mom was so surprised to see the length. My sister was excited to see the length too since I have yet to straighten for the year.

I had my sister spray some more nexxus and flat iron one small section. I was amazed. This is the longest that my hair has ever been. I have a two strands pass my bra strap so I know I can get there for sure. When I got home, I finished up at about 1a and wrapped my hair. this morning, although the Texas humidity has it poofy in the roots, I'm still in love. lol Although my hair looks thick, it really isn't. I think that's why when relaxed it looked really thin. I think that I have a lot of fine strands.hmm

Anyway, I was walking to the airport and feeling my hair blowing in the back of me, that was such a wonderful feeling. My hair is getting stuck under my arm, under my bag, and in the window of the plane, but I aint complaining. lol Ill try to post pics when I get to the hotel. Thanks for reading you guys. I just wanted to share my excitement with you all.

This is the best that I can do with pics. Check out the difference in my pony! Let's keep on growing ya'll! I probably won't give a length update again until December. Thanks guys!!

I can't wait for that feeling. It'll probably be when I get to full shoulder length. lol. I don't expect much in terms of length these days...

Im happy for you too. :grin: You have been taking care of your hair and now you are seeing the benefits/rewards, there's nothing wrong with feeling good about it and wanting to share your progress every so often. I still haven't had that exact feeling yet, but I do feel good that Im gradually seeing my hair get healthy, thicker and longer.
 
I can't wait to have that feeling! Congrats to you...

If by next summer I don't have that long hair feeling, I think Ima flip out on my stylist ! :lachen:
 
I know the feeling! I am at brastrap and i recently got my phyto touch-up about two weeks ago. After my relaxer i did a series of yummy conditioning steam treatments and bunning for two weeks post to make sure i didnt get dried out hair syndrome...well i took my hair down today and i was "DANG THIS HAIR IS SOFFFF!!!" :hair: ( I :love: that steamer)!

I cant wait til i get it done this weekend so i can get my cascading curls on :woot:

Thanks so much ladies! You guys are always so supportive. Some of you (Neith) might not want to hear this, but I don't think that I'll be able to post pics.

:lachen:I notice that a few people were staring at me strangely while I was walking in the KC airport, and I figured it was probably because my hair reverted a little more from when I was in Houston. As soon as I got to the restroom, OH LAWD, I lcouldn't believe my eyes. I looked like Cousin It. :sad::nono::nono: My hair is pinned up right now, and I'm a little irritated. That humidity snuck up on me really fast. I'll try to take a pic to show you guys. It's really not cute. :nono: Dang... all that hard work last night for nothing.
 
yes u have arrived...I can see your hair swangin' now:yep:...don't it feel good?...IRL your hair is longer than the average....the bar is set super high here on LHCF,which is a good thing,therefore pushing memebers to achieve even LONGER hair:yep:

Aye aye .. congrats ... i have not gotten that feeling yet. Maybe 4 more inches and I can brag ...Sigh...
 
CONGRATS!!! I have no where near long hair but I kinda understand how you feel because my hair is so full and thick now that some of my family/friends can't believe its all mine and it feels great!! CONGRATS again!!!
 
you have long hair IMO. that is the length i am chasing actually; i feel BSL will be the ultimate but once i get past APL i will be shouting from the rooftops.

Thanks!! Yep I was thinking that WL is my ultimate goal, but if I don't go pass my current length, I'd still be satisfied. So, I definitely know what you're talking about.

It sure does feel great. I can't imagine how it feels for you though. Your hair is gorgeous. I love the length, and shine! My hair is huge, but that's not how it looked when I straightened it. The humidity got to it. :lachen:

I'm happy 4 u... I think I'll feel like this when I'm past APL, but not necessarily BSL. Got a few inches to go yet.
