I have tried using the search feature but can't find it, but I remember reading where someone used honey at some point in their wash n' go to tame the frizzies.

Does anyone remember who it was and how it was used??

Thanks in advance!!

Hey BB, I remember Camellia had mentioned using honey to make her curls pop, I think she mixed it with water in a spray bottle or something.

Also I think Pokahontas may do honey rinses too.

Hopefully someone will chime in...

Hopefully someone else will chime in to add b/c now I am wondering if I just rinse it with honey or if i use the honey/water mix in a spray bottle once I am done conditioning the hair:spinning:

BUMPETY, BUMP, BUMP (pretty please??)

I wanna do a wash and go tonight or either first thing in the morning and trying to prevent the frizzies. I know this honey thing has something to do with it...

More replies??

Thanks in advance....

Bump bump....... I would like to know as well. I use it in my deep conditioner for smoothness & shine but I don't know about rinses.....Bump bump

When you do so, do you air dry or rollerset? Also, do you just mix a little in your conditioner and do a deep conditioner or is this your regular conditioner you're talking about?

Thanks!

Pokahontas definitely does honey rinses. She might explain the technique in her Fotki album or you could just send her a PM.

Did you ever get your hair layered like you mentioned a few weeks ago, BlackBarbie?

Yes I love honey rinses. I tried to get in here to reply the other day but my computer messed up. Anyway here's what you do, it's so easy. Just take a mug (I don't know why but I use a coffee mug to do this, lol) of warm water and add a spoonful of honey and mix it up. After you wash and condition and everything squeeze the excess water out of your hair then pour this mixture through your hair as your final rinse. You do not rinse this out. I usually comb it through so it gets all over. It will not make your hair sticky. It actually dries really soft and your curls will be shiny and frizz free. I have pics in my fotki under "Wash n'go with honey rinse". HTH

I don't use honey in my hair but I understand why it would be good for your hair.

Honey is a humectant (basically a water attracter/magnet) so it makes water/moisture stay on hour hair. Curls curl best with moisture.

Kinda Acts like glycerin which is also a humectant. Both glycerin and honey are sweet tasting.

Thx Pokahontas, Ill try this out the next time I do a wash n go. Do you do it all the time or only for your wash n gos?

It's a humectant? Hmm I think I may dissolve some honey into my spray bottle mixture of watered down conditioner and oil
