How to Use Growth Aids While Weaving

I've search through numerous threads over the past three days but haven't been able to find a sufficient answer. I just got a new sew in weave and I'd like to begin using a growth aid on my scalp. My concern, however, is that while I've researched a few of the more popular GAs, I'm not sure which would be the best for my situation.

Mega Tek recommends that you use it as a conditioner and rinse it out, But I only plan to wash my hair every two weeks. I'm afraid that if I use Mega Tek or something similar every other day or a few times a week, without rinsing or washing it out it may damage my hair.

I did see that someone mentioned that they used a toothbrush to "cleanse" their scalp days after an application, but I don't know if I'll feel like doing all of that.

Can anyone recommend a growth aid that might be best used under these circumstances? Or share your stories of how you increased your growth while protective styling with a sew in?

Use something easy. I think all that protein from Megatek will kill your hair. I would stick to growth aides like MN and Bee Mine. Those are growth aides that don't have to be washed out. They do cause product buildup though. But since you're washing every 3 weeks, you shouldn't have much of a problem. Good luck!

I'm in a sew in right now and I just discontinued using megatek (3 months ago). I was putting the megatek in between the braids and I would wash my hair every 2 weeks. While I did notice my hair growing I also noticed the shedding and that it looked noticeably thinner (wasn't taking garlic supplements like I should have) so I stopped using it. I went back to my faithful MN mixture (putting it between the braids of my sew in) and my hair is thickening up and growing like a weed

Thanks, I think I might try it. I hope the dollar store has a version of MN, when I go tomorrow. I just found out about MN the other day so hopefully I'll see results.

DOLL BABY how do you use mn?

I wasI once a week I wear half wigs and i was using mega tek mixed with coconut and olive oils (no shedding took garlic every night and no protein cod. b/c its not needed with mega tek) i put it in an application bottle and applied every night, my hair in the back is in corn rows. (I do not rinse out alot of ladies who use mega tek out do not check out the thread) Im running out too hard to order and i am tired of the expensive shipping cost and the mn is cheaper.

anybody have a net sew in? thats what i have for the hyh challenge. all i have out are the edges and a horseshoe which of course i can use my sulfur 8 & mn mix on but i wanna get in between my braids under the net
