Hello All,I was wondering how to get the curl pattern or give it a little help,I washed today and applied a little
leave in and a little olive oil and I applied some of the No
Alcohol Gellation (clear kind) and My hair curled up but not
all of it,The back was curly the sides were curly and the front was a little but I still have those spikes in my hair,
I had it cut to the newgrowth about 2wks.ago and it is so
spikey but it is cute, and I have learned that my natural hair has to air dry, because If I get under the dryer or blow dry my hair becomes so hard and dry,so air drying is the thing for me,also my sides were thin and now they are filled in and the bald spot in my crown area has also filled
in so this has been only 2wks.of growth, and I love it,I hope
it continues to grow like this,I don't take alot of vitamins
I just like to eat at least one salad a day and some fruit
and drink my water, but These are the only supplements I take

Diet Smart(Generic Brand of One A Day Weight Smart)you get it at wal-mart and you get 100ct.for $5.88 and they have the
same ingredients and works great I have lost 2#'s in a week.

Royal Jelly capsules(1 Daily)
Flax Seed Oil Capsules(2 Daily)

And that is it,I can't spend all day taking alot of supplements,But I have thought about adding Msm for my joints because I exercise and my joints seems to crackle from time to time.I am just talking way away from the subject,Sorry!!!

Your hair probably has more then one texture on your head like mine. My hair is 4a/B but certain places on the back and side is 3C so when it is wet it look funny because some are soft and curly and some are skrait nappy. The things I notice that give me more curl definition is doing the no-poo for a while or adding a whole lemon to my conditioner.

No poo helped me a lot too. The crown of my hair is the curliest, and it used to be like a puffy frizz in the back, with curls on the sides, front, and nape. Now I have great curl definition in the back. I think more moisture means better curl definition.

I'm multi-textured as well. Different sections of my hair curl-up differently. Have you ever tried styling products and gels that specifically say 'curl defining' or 'curl enhancing'

I get the most definition right after conditioning my hair when my hair is not weighed down with heavy oils and pomades. I like sweet almond oil.

Also, using this Denman Brush to detangle(available at Sallys) gives unbelievable definition

Also, if you just got a cut a little while ago, you may still have perm on your ends. Quite a few nappies have had to go back for trims b/c of this.

And then, like the ladies above mentioned, you may just have different textures.

Try sleeping in a good deep conditioner. Put on a shower cap, and then wrap a scarf around it. That helps my curlies.

Some of us just don't get curls no matter what though! Doesn't really bother me.

But I have heard good things about the Denman brush.

This is so true. The only time my hair has any kind of curl definition is when it's extremely moisturized.

Soulchild, what version of a denman brush is that? TIA.

soslychick, it's the D3 version available at Sally's. From what I understand the D4, which some people like, has more rows and the bristles aren't as flexible. I'm happy with the D3 version.

I would reccommend different gels that are aimed at curly hair. Also less shampoo is probably better and conditioners that say hydrating or curl defining work well for me. But like others said before it may be your permed ends and it may just be the texture of your hair that looks that way. I hope this helps and happy growin to ya!

You can actually get the D3 and D4 in black on black or red on black. The D3 has 7 rows of bristles and the D4 has 9 rows.
