Um, excuse me, I thought both Celie and Whitley were natural...And if they made a post about natural relaxers or loosening the texture, then the same people who relax, texturize or what have you would be on there. So whats new?
What are you talking about? I never said they they weren't natural:ohwell: What I meant is that if you permanently change the bonds in your hair to loosen your curl pattern, then I don't consider you to be natural.

I was just pointing out that they are both natural. I still consider you natural if you are chemical free. We can agree to disagree, though. I was basically just having fun, I know what you mean.

I feel like if anything this didnt change their curl pattern, but just added more moisture to their hair since she said she was washing it twice a week and in the comments said she would spray her hair 5x a week. People will believe anything though especially if its to get "good hair". Every time I feel like the world is progressing its dumb ish like this that reminds me what just taking 2 steps back. SMH.

If the pics are true, it also giving some truth behind shewhomustnotbenamed pH testing. And yah, that definitely ain't 3C. *shrug* :lachen: @ 3A 2011 comment!
:lachen:me too- i cant believe she had the nerve to even include that 3a in 2011 wth
OT manter26 that baby girl is gorgeous!

but does acv permanently change the bonds? I thought it was temporary and like a conditioner.
I tried acv years ago. I don't think I did it right. It was very drying - not moisturizing at all. I had a hard time de-tangling.

that seems so drying...when i did acv rinses in the past i used 1 or 2 tablespoons of ACV to 1 cup of water...something about a 1:1 ratio doesnt seem like a good idea to me...but more power to her, i hope she reaches her goal of 3a in 2011...2b if she's lucky:rolleyes:

ofourth of all i did an acv rinse the other day for the first time and i didnt feel like it clarified my hair bc basically all i did was poor some diluted vinegar on it and then rinse it out sooooooo i dont get the whole acv rinsing thing in general

shrug

From my understanding ACV closes the cuticle and helps restore the ph balance. I thought it was baking soda that supposedly clarify. Her ratio seemed scary though I can't imagine how dry my hair would be if I did it her way.

A lot of BS, not sure what that video was all about. I do ACV rinses religiously as my last rinse and my hair texture is still my hair texture on my new growth. ACV rinses brings the hair back to proper its PH balance and leaves a shine to the hair. That is why I use it. I also use PC.

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice the heat-damaged "3a" ringlets in the first set of comparison pics? :perplexed

I'll take the kinks for 200, Alex.

from the comparison picture.....did anyone see 3 type curls? i didn't. I saw 4a. She went from 4 to a more moisturized 4a. what is she talking about.

she should have just said look at how i do a vinegar co wash

I didn't even see that. She's still a 4b, just a 4b shingled (yes 4b can be shingled)

ahhh, ok. i wasnt exactly sure what the acv rinse was supposed to do. ive always misunderstood it as a form of clarifying. i miss clarifying  i miss my baking soda mix lol

That's that BULL-doody. I've been using a capful of ACV diluted with 1 pint of water and my hair type hasn't changed on bit, I always rinse with water afterwards, it gets rid of product build up or residue since I don't use shampoo.
I think you can use wither ACV/water or baking soda water do clarify. Your hair either likes to be more acidic or basic. You'll know you have the right one when it's easier to detangle and soft, whenyour hairs tangled after our hair doesn't like that clarifier.

How come Baking Soda is a no go for you? I'm always tempted to try it but I'm scared that my ratio wouldn't be dilute enough and will cause me a set back. You should jump on clarifying again if it works for you. I use Gio 50:50 to clarify but I'm not sure that it really does. When I did bentonite clay it clarified for me. I haven't tried rhassoul though I hear it clarifies as well.

it makes my hair feel dry. i figure i better hold out on an especially drying process like clarifying until i figure out how to better moisturize.

I clarify with ACV all the time.

I'm really mad she is giving advice in the comments. Those poor people are gonna end up mighty disappointed listening to her delusional arse.

:stop: and :stop:!

I can't stand the term "good hair." I just want to :clubu: everyone that uses that term. Seriously!

I'd like to actually SEE this girl doing what she says she does. Not some random pictures that could have been snatched smooth off the internet...

:down::down:

I find this hilarious that someone honestly thinks ACV could change your hair texture! So many lost folks out here
