How to Co-wash?

Could someone tell me step by step how to co-wash? Is this method good for someone who uses oil daily? Also, I have a tendecy to get a very itcy scalp and sometimes dry patches in my scalp. Would this way of washing hair be beneficial for someone w/a scalp like mine?

hot_pepper96 when I do a CW I just put the conditioner on my hair and wash it in the shower(making sure to make a lather w/the co & just rinse). I don't know if this is the right way or not but would love to hear what others ladies are doing. I hear you on the dry/itchy scalp. I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis and my scalp seems to always be itchy/dry. Keep in mind that I have only been cw for the past week but as of right now I haven't noticed a difference in my scalp.

The only "wrong" way to con wash is to use shampoo  Otherwise, people have a variety of steps they follow. Some wash with a lighter conditioner first, to replace the shampoo, and then they use a regular conditioner afterwards. Some do what tishee does and lather the hair with conditioner, rinse, and stop there. I actually spend most of the process rinsing. I basically get my hair as clean as I can with just water, scrubbing my scalp and everything, then squeeze out the excess water and apply the conditioner to condition regularly.
Try out different ways to see what works best for you :yep:

I use the conditoner as if it was a shampoo. I rinse out my hair and add conditioner usually a different one from before.

well what i do is just apply the a conditioner(maybe a cheap brand) and let it sit for at least 10 to 15 minutes...and then i get into the shower and rinse my hair...then use the conditioner like im using the shampoo and go thru my hair again with it...rinse it out again...and then i usually go and put a deep conditioner on my hair...i maybe over conditioning..but it works and makes my new growth and hair so very soft...heres a link that motionshair.com had on their website about how condition washing supposedly helps minimize and get rid of breakage....http://motionshair.com/M_ybl/M_ybl_ss1.cfm i tried to follow this but with my own conditioners...but i usually end up getting braids or weaves before i can do it for the full amount of days...

Basically, I do this. I rinse my hair like I would do with shampoo, squeeze the excess water, blot with the towel, comb the conditioner through with my shower comb and put the plastic bag over my head. Then I sit under the dryer for 30 mins and then rinse the conditioner out of my hair.

Hmmm... I'm gonna try this when I start back co-washing. I think I have been co-washing wrong before.

I need help with a step by step on co-washing too. I tried it yesterday and it came out good but my hair was not soft like usual when it was wet (b4 i rollerset it). Yesterday I applied the Motions CPR to wet hair and then rinsed and conditioned with Vo5. This didn't work great for me tho...still searching for a set way to co-wash. I wanna do it every other day.I think i am going to try one of these methods instead.

1. Wash with Vo5 Strawberries and Cream conditioner first
2. Deep condition with Lekair Shea Butter Cholesterol mixed with glycerin and castor oil
3. Condition again with Pantene Full & Thick.
4. Apply leave-in
5. Rollerset or airdry in ponytail

or

1. Wash with Tresemme Anti-Breakage
2. Deep Condition with Motions CPR
3. Condition again with Lekair Cholesterol mix
4. Apply leave-in
5. Rollerset or airdry

Does anyone do something similar to this? Do you think this would be better for my hair?

I tried what the motions website said about co-washing with the CPR and it came out great. I have had no breakage or shedding for the last two days since I did it, and I am addicted to the comb. I am gonna co-wash with this every 4 days and use something else for the rest of the days. I am trying to co-wash atleast 3x a week. My hair seems to love protein. I use protein in my conditioners, and leave ins and have had better results using protein products than with moisturizing products. My hair is softer and stronger when I use protein products like CPR and Hair Mayo. I tried using a moisturizing conditioner but it only made my hair dry.

Here is what I do!
1. Rinse scalp with hot water in shower
2. Scrub scalp with finger tips(not nails)
3. Apply whatever conditioner I decide to use.
4.Put on plastic cap and wash body
5.Take off plastic cap and detangle with a shampoo brush under running water.
6. Apply leave-in, little frizz serum, and oil.
7. Air dry in ponytail or roller set.
