Just my new growth every 4 weeks, to cover the gray. I do a henna and indigo mixture.

I henna every two weeks. I have gray and after two weeks, but gray hair ends up having a growth spurt. If I wear my hairstyles with my hair directed towards my face then I henna it 3-4 weeks.

I henna every week or every 2 weeks to get the color I want then i cut it back to monthly or every other month.

2-3x per year. That was my old schedule up until a few months ago since I'd braid up for a few months and then do a henna treatment straight after or 1-2 months after the take down. Now that I'll never be in braid extensions again, I've thought about doing it once every 2 months to see if doing it more regularly has more benefits.

I couldn't imagine doing it every week or even every 2 weeks simply because I feel doing this would complicate my regimen too much and I'm just too lazy . The once per week detangling session is hard work enough .

Monthly. To build up the effects I hennaed weekly for about 4 weeks, then every 2 weeks for a couple of months. Some say you should only henna the new growth but I apply to the length of my hair each time. No complaints.

I henna/indigo for jet black hair, I've only done it twice but I would like to do it every 6-8 weeks to cover all the gray hair.

Currently, I henna 2x's per month. Every 2nd and 4th Friday....without fail!! I love what henna does for my hair. My favorite is NUPUR 100% pure henna. It also contains other ayurvedic herbs that are awesome for hair!! :dance7:

When I first used henna, I applied it 3 times in 8 days. Then I used henna every time I got the chance like once every 10 days. I haven't used henna in several weeks until a couple of days and I really noticed the difference. My hair behaves much better when I henna frequently and I get much less breakage.

The people who only do their new growth are usually trying to maintain a certain color with the henna and don't redo their length because it will cause the color to darken or become a burgundy/purple like color. But those of us with dark hair don't have to really worry about that.

I voted for monthly to vote for something but in truth I follow mj11051's method of hennaing 3-4 weeks consecutively, then tapering off to once every 3-4 weeks or so when I am not in braids.

I like to get the hair as saturated as possible with henna before doing monthly treatments because I go so long in braids - 2 months at a time.

I use it as a strengthening step alternated with reconstructor treatments before re-installing my extension braids.

i henna for color, so nowadays i only do so every 2 or 3 months. i think i'll start using cassia exclusively, however, since i've gotten my perfect shade of red.

I may need to increase my treatments to every week for my hairline only because of grays coming in so fast:sad:. That means I would have to mix a batch and a half each time I mix it:yep:.

You can do "root shooting" for that rather than the whole head. Catherine Cartwright-Jones (mehandi.com) sells a nice little tool for it (not overly expensive...unusual for her) :lachen:I just let mine grow until I can't take it anymore. :spinning:

That's what I do, sorry I wasn't clear in my explanation.

I henna the day I take my braids out so that is about every 8 weeks and then 2 weeks later I do a protein treatment and then back in braids. I did this cycle the entire year of 09.
