How Often Do You Do A Hard Protein [relaxed Ladies]--

I notice a lot of breakage and I think I may try aphogee 2 step .
I don't really do Hard protein because my hair rarely needs it because it wasn't breaking before.

I apply green tea from aphogee on it stops the breakage for a short period.

I haven't had a hard protein in ....several months.
Also, My hair is mushy while wet.

My moisture levels are great.
The only protein I use are in my deep conditioner from ORS and the green tea and aloe vera juice.
Those are not hard proteins but those are proteins.
 
I've learned my hair doesn't like hard proteins. My favorite medium protein is called Nutress. It smells and looks like minty green toothpaste, but is awesome. At first I was buying the little packets at Sally's, but I've started ordering the jars online. I typically use this one before and during the relaxer process. I've been using it more often because my hair became over-moisturized for about a week. I also use their leave-in as a light protein. ORS hair mayo is good too imo.
 
tbh I don't think i've ever had a HARD protein treatment. I always just use the aphogee 2 min with heat and that keeps my hair in line.

Reconstructor biweekly
Mild protein bi weekly

Moisture of course is build into my routine but my relaxed hair enjoys regular protein as well. The key is to make sure moisture levels are high enough that my hair doesn't get brittle. But, I don't like soft mushy hair. As long as it's not brittle then I'm good.
 
Hard protein...never

Mild protein once or twice per week...more like a reconstructor.

I also love using Aphogee's 2 Minute Recon, and ORS Replenishing pack

A new winner is Silk Dreams Moisture Dream - it has a bit of protein in it.

I tried using hard proteins early in my journey and didn't realize I gave myself a protein overload...repeatedly. Couldn't figure why I had constant breakage...then, duh.

I've also learned there are differences in the KIND of protein used. Not every protein is created equal.

Is ORS hair Mayo a light protein? hydrolyzed collagen is 11th on the ingredient list while hydrolyzed collagen is 8th on the replenishing conditioner.
