4a/b relaxed
-during my daily co-washing: only while im under a shower head. I probably comb through it 5 times. I don't comb my hair during every co-wash though
-when my hair is straight, i only comb it once a day with my fingers, or a wide toothed comb. in fact i dont wear my hair straight (down) for more than 2 days in a row *victim of hand-in-hair-itis*
I may go a couple of weeks without combing even though I may shampoo/conditioner wash 2-3 times per week. I finger detangle mostly under the shower just to put my hair back in my daily ponytail with the ends tucked under which is my version of the fake bun. I smooth with my hands or the edges with the Denman brush and put on my scarf so that the edges will look smoother.
Hair type - not sure. Got a lot of waves, some 3c coils, a few 4a - I guess I'm multi-textured. All I know is it is thick in here.
I'm thinking about what I want to do with my hair. It changes daily. So, I have relaxed ends and almost 9 months of new growth.
I comb only on wash days, after my hair has been conditioned and while it has conditioner in it. I wash whenever I have the time or feel the need, which is typically every 2-3 days. I'm texturized, my natural texture is a 3b/4a mix. Wearing braid-outs has eliminated the need.
Relaxed hair, comb every 2 weeks on wash day as it remains in a protective style for this duration. If I have a doobie and have my hair down, twice daily, when taking it out of the wrap and wrapping it up again.
I'm relaxed with 4a/b hair and don't comb everyday. To avoid tangles I use a good conditioner with extra slip to help detangle in the shower with my hands and fingers. Maybe this could help you Bimbabe.
Girl Vanessa22 If you saw my list of detangling conditioners you would think I was running a beauty shop! This week I added to my arsenal revlons porosity control and Aloetrix Yellow Detangling Conditioner but I have not tried them out yet.
My hair is so tangly I started a thread and followed most of the advice and still nothing. I think I am going to give full air drying a break...but that is a different thread.
Well hope things work out. Try surge as a detangler, though. It worked for me, so it could work for you too. Good luck and just be patient with the tangles. Even if it means leaving them, and coming back later.
I used to comb everyday or try too because I thought it was going to help, I remember reading some post where some members never comb their hair or used the brush , just thier fingers, I thought it could not be done, or I could never do that but my regime is more simple now, plus am wearing braids, so I only comb my hair when I need to, I dont have to really comb it at all, I just undo, whatever style my hair is in, mostly braid, and just rebraid it, it my look messy sometimes, but thats not a big deal too me, last time I comb it was more then I week ago, when I got it rebraided,
