i get my relaxer every 3 months, but the entire back of my head is new growth. it has been exactly 2 months since my last relaxer.i am trying to decide if i should wait 4 more weeks or not. i know i won't have alot of breakage but i know i probably shouldn't put to much stress on my roots either.i'm not sure how much growth i could achieve in those 4 weeks. now i have to wear my hair in a bun since my roots are so thick.

i get mine every 8-10 weeks usually and sometimes i play it by ear.

I really am a firm beleiver in relaxing when you see breakage from the two textures. I would relax my hair at 4 weeks *IF i had an inch of new growth and my hair was breaking because of it. As long as your hair is manageable, go for it. But dont wait just to say you waited xyz weeks

Every 8-10 weeks.

My next touch up will be at the end of March, or the end of April depending on the weather. If I get it in March it will be 20 weeks, if in April it will be 24 weeks so every 5 or 6 months respectively.

I relax every 3 months. Since I wear cornrows for to months at a time and then I give my hair a break for a month I don't need one as often. In my braids my hair is resting and re-building itself and it isn't out in the elements. Now if I had a relaxer with my hair out for three months then it would be probably every 9-10 weeks.

I've relaxed every 8 weeks since April 2003 when I got a virgin relaxer on my afro.

I stretched it to 10 weeks right before Xmas, and I hope the L'Anza Strait Line shampoo and conditioner will let me manage my new growth without breakage for even longer this time.

I'm on week 9 and I am definitely getting a relaxer Wednesday. I'm at the point now where dealing with my newgrowth is a pain in the butt. I think I will start relaxing every 8 weeks from now on.

Usually I texturize every 3 months but I just stretched it out to 5 and it was better for me. I gave my hair a break plus saw more growth. The plan was to wait till 9 months but I couldnt take it anymore

Hair got too thick ...

I remember a time...not long ago...when I HAD to get a relaxer every month (4 weeks)...if I went 5 or 6 weeks that was a tragedy in my eyes. Now that I've been learning about how to truly care for my relaxed hair...I know that I was doing major damage. The last relaxer I got was at 12.5 weeks (that's paramount for me) so if I can go that long...ANYBODY can stretch out their relaxer, with the wealth of knowlege imparted by the lovely ladies and gents of the LHCF of course!

from now on i'll relax every 12 weeks. i was trying to stretch it out to 6 months but i got so much new growth that around the 4th month i was doing more harm than good. i saw too much breakage.
