for a 100% ceramic professional flat iron?

When I first heard about the over 100.00 dollar flat iron. I was like what idiot would spend 100.00 Plus on an iron.

However when I calculate all the irons I have paid 20 bucks or less for I know I have spent way more than $100. and they burn out or not get as hot over time. Or some of the cheap ones are not designed to straighten black hair.

So now I would definately spend the money on a pricer iron, if it was garantee to not lose heat. In the long run it's cheaper to buy quality.

Anybody bought a Gold Iron and burnt their hair off??

JMO.

I chose 120 to 150 because the chi's are in that range, some below, and I really want to get one, eventually.

yes and I never thought about it being the flat iron..smh. Was barely shoulder length for yrs for no reason

I voted $60-90 because I paid $80 for my HAI on ebay. But I will pay a little over $100 MAX for another iron like a Sedu, Solio, or CHI. But only if there isn't one on ebay for cheaper.

I voted the same price range because I think the Sedu will be my next purchase.

I bought a Sedu on sale for $99 a couple of months ago. I think that, by reading the reviews on the irons both here and at Folica.com, you can expect to get exactly what you pay for.

I believe in doing my homework, then paying ONCE and getting the best I can, because the expense for high quality always ends up being cheaper in the long run.

I bought my HAI about 4 years ago when ceramic irons weren't as popular. My hair dresser bought herself and me one. I paid $110 with her discount.:ohwell: But it was well worth it. People are always borrowing it!

I saw a $120 flat iron at Sephora. If I wanted a flat iron I would have bought it because it's ionic, ceramic, and tourmaline.

I have a Gold N Hot at home that I haven't used in months and I will never use again.

I wonder if its the Sedu...I went to Sephora (for something else) and bought one today. I was surprised to find it (the only one)...I read, somewhere, you could only buy them from Folica, guess not. I'm gonna try it tonight.

It was either Sedu or the Bespoke Labs T3. Whatever it was, they were selling the same thing in a Sephora segment on the Home Shopping Network.

I paid 80 bucks for my Maxiglide. I NEVER thought I'd pay that much for a flat iron. Mainly because I never met a plug in appliance that came close to straightening my hair. Flatironing was something I did AFTER pressing with the hot comb. Then the Maxi started ripping my hair out so about 5 or 6 months later I paid $120 for my Sedu, it was soooo worth it.

Same here I love my Solia!! I also bought the Sedu, I just gave it away, the outside plates got to hot! For some reason I alway seemed to touch it there lol.

Well I found this link to FHI heat and they compare the CHI and T3 Tourmaline to the FHI Runaway. Click on the "Technology" link. Plus they have vids for tips on flat ironing wet or dry, curls or waves, etc. in the 'Ask Les" section.

www.fhiheat.com

I don't think CHI and T3 Tourmaline would sit around and allow this kind of comparison if it wasn't true. I think they would sue for libel or slander or false advertising.

Eh in the end- Use what works best for you right?
