How much should I expect 2 spend on a good quality pair of shears?

i got a great pair of hair shears at sally's for about $20. they are jilbere shears made from japanese stainless steel. they are super sharp, and well worth the money. i only use them on hair and i love them.

$25-$35

I am sure Sally's is good. I like the ones that are sold to stylist. The cheaper ones just don't seem as sharp and precise to me.

ITA Honeydew, I trimmed with cheapie shears and my ends were raggedy again after 3 weeks. Last time I trimmed with mid-priced shears and my ends were very nice, precise and lasted much longer than three weeks. You get what you pay for.

I got my shears from some random BSS for only $7. Im very happy with them. I use them only for the occasional S&D (Search and Destroy) dusting, and they work fine for that. Not sure about using them for an all-round trim, but I imagine they would be fine as well.

i think the ones i bought were under $10. how sharp do they need to be, i'm only cutting hair not rope:grin:
but jokes aside, i dont understand the scissor sharpness factor. arent they all sharp, especially when new? i'm a novice when it comes to hair cuttery
