I do. When I am at work after a white co-worker asked me what I was looking at. I only log on during break time in the staff room. When I told her she said how sad it was for people to have a site dedicated to hair care Before thinking I explained that some black women have delicate hair and it is therefore harder for some of us to retain length so I thought it was a good idea to have the site as it had a lot of good info on hair care. I then felt angry with myself for even explaining myself to this rude woman

I still hide it from most. I've shown the website to my sisters, a cousin, and my SO. I dont care to show it to anybody else. I dont talk about this site to strangers either even if hair(care) should come up as a topic. I feel like I belong to a special, wonderful club that Im blessed to be a part of.

In the future, I'll probably only mention this site if the potential "recruit" asks for help and I think she has a certain determination or motivation that's from the heart. I'd have to see if she really listens and believe she is READY.

This is exactly how I feel, only my kids and dh now I belong to the site

My dh is the only one that knows about it. I made the mistake of telling one of my friends that I wash my hair more than 1x a week and she's still clowning me about it. "You do know you're not white?"...but everybody keeps talkin' about how long my hair is now!

I have told my BFF's and I know at least one of them thinks I'm crazy Joke will be on her when I'm BSL!

(She is of the belief that some people just can't grow long hair..so I stopped talking to her about it. She relaxes her hair every three weeks or keeps her hair in braids for three-four months at a time and NEVER moisturizes it and still wonders why it breaks off like crazy. I have offered some tips but she won't listen, so I won't talk about it.)

ANYWAY! Whenever I'm on campus I always minimize, I know it looks suspicious but I don't want people to know about my obsession

I do the same thing or I say I have a friend who bla blah blah....I hide it because people don't understand that this is a secret society and all we ask is trust..

I don't close or minimize my windows when I'm at work because my co-workers and family members already know they have their toys and I have mine and mine is hair. It's weird but they seem to actually respect that about me. They come to me for hair advice quite often and that in itself gives me a great feeling. They're happy and so am I.

I've stopped telling folks because when they ask 50 million questions about What to Do I tell them about lhcf and when I ask have they visited the site...the answer is no. So I'm like whatever...they are not really looking for any hair care info b/c but to completely waste your time by talking about it.

About my hubb walking back and forth to investigate what was I reading and pretty much typing about, it was simply to tell one of his guy friends on the phone the site I was on and how I was really into hair...um okay, did he really need to tell someone that?

Sometimes when my daughter wakes up in the middle of the nite to go to the restroom, she'd come up here going "Mooooooom, you on that hair site AGAAAAAAIN??" I be quickly minimizing the window LOL!!

Now if people comes over my house and I'm on here. I'll just turn the monitor off so as not to let it be known that I was even on the computer!

My immediate family knows I'm on this site 24/7 and they have been pretty supportive about it, but I told one of my bff's about it and she pretty much laughed in my face and told me I was stupid if I take any hair advice from a group of women that has never been to cosmetology school. Of course this is my secret! No one told me about this site. I took it upon myself to search the web and was shocked to discover that this site and others have been around for years!! And no one told me! Plus it's nice to keep these secrets among ourselves- the ppl who truly are into hair. This is how I feel. I feel like t would be useless to try to explain this site and the things I do to my hair to anyone until I have some serious results to back it all up. CBL hair aint gonna cut it around my fam/friends.

Same here. I don't tell anyone about it. I'll just say, "I've been doing black hair care research"
I figure so many people...particularly women...are so negative when it comes to someone trying to grow their hair...I really don't want to hear "Oh you've been spending all that time on that stupid hair forum and your hair don't look any different" or any other variation of such comments so I just keep this and my hair regime as my little secret.
