are you wearing the hair straight or curly?
Do you want to add length, or body?
How long are you planning on keeping it in?

I just did a quick weave on my sister's hair. Her hair is very thin and over processed from incorrect home perming.

so really it depends on what you are trying to achieve. Sis was wanting length, and thickness. They are glued in, and you can't feel the tracks when you run your hands over it. This was 10 tracks, split up over the head I think. It was less then 1 pack of yaky perm, which I think is 2 bulk, I am not sure on that one.

I want a wavy weave
I want to get some length
It's really only for homecoming so as long as it looks good for homecoming I don't really care how long it stays in...if it stayed in long thats cool but if not thats cool too...just as long as its good for homecoming pictures.

sew-in weaves are for thoes who are trying to keep it in for a while, IMHO. For a different look for a special occasion, I would opt for the glue in, making sure to either have the stylist go w/ you to get the hair, or having a counseltation to have her tell you what brand and color to get. The pics posted are a glue in weave that took me 45min and sis took it out in 5 days. She just wanted her hair done since she was going out.

well i would like it to last as long as possible. i was just saying as long as its perfect for homecoming thats all that matters...i would love to get as much as i can out of it though...im scared to glue tracks because ive heard that it can be damaging. my friends auntie can do it for like $30-40 dollars...i just don't know how many to buy

I would get 2 packs of hair. You will probably only use less then one pack, but you can have the extra on hand, if you get a touch up or if she screws up something. My motto is better to have and not need, then to need and not have

ok thank you so much for all of your help!:) i really appreciate it!

You should trust your instincts and not get the glue in, they are such a pain! I've seen too many people suffer extreme breakage or damage from the glue. You are better off sewing in about 2-3 tracks in the back if you want length and fullness. The quality and type of hair is up to you, but remember that you get what you pay for. If you decide to do your own weave then you should check out DSD (don't speak defeat) fotki album, she gives an excellent step by step pictorial on how to apply your weave. Good luck and let us know how it goes!:)
