How many people here wash every 2 weeks or more?

Curious to know who does it and what they do to keep their hair soft during the 2 weeks. I'm finding by day 8 even with the products I put in it feels a bit dry. I know SherryLove goes 2 weeks and I think KT too??? What are your tips? Any others? Thanks /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lately, I've been doing every 2 weeks. Not planned, simply because I've gotten too trifling to wash every weekend like I normally do.

I've been doing this for the past few months. I find that after the first week my roots become oily and the ends are dry. I just put some oils or spray some Sta-sof-Fro on, bun it up and call it a day.

DR, what do you put in your hair during that 2 week period? Thanks /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use something like Profective Root Health on the ends and wear it up the majority of the second week. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just found a good solution to allow me to go 2 weeks before washing (I'm really busy now). I spray surge for strength then put un braid spray for moisture since it has glycerin. It works perfectly. Before this I put all sorts of creams etc only to have that greasy but dry feel and hair felt like it was stressed for lack of a better word. I use to wash every other day, so this relly frees up alot of time.

I wash every two weeks. I mostly wear protective styles so all I have to do is spritz my roots with water and my hair stays pretty moisturized. I might use Profectiv Breakfree or something like that on my hair if it starts to feel dry.

Thanks ladies.

cutebajangirl, that was my problem too the creamy products left it dry and greasy. Maybe now that I'm using world of curls activator it won't have that feel.

Lovelylocs, I want to see if I could go longer since I'm trying to find ways to manipulate my hair less and washing 2x/month would do it. Btw, who's "they" /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Normally, I wash my hair once a week. But now with almost 5 mths of new growth, I find myself waiting a minimum of 2 wks. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wash me hair every 3 weeks, and I don't really have a problem. I don't put a lot of products on my hair, so all I would really have to do, is put some oil on my hands, rub it up, and massage it in my hair once a week, and it would be fine.

I wash my hair every two weeks. I wear my hair in twists most of the time. For the most part, I don't do anything, but I will occasionally spray my leave-in and dab oil on the ends if my hair feels unusually dry.

i wait two weeks and sometimes even later i feel like its stronger by waiting longer but that is my personal belief my mom and my sister do too. i dont really have that much product buildup b/c im not to heavy with the products. and as long as i have my scarf at night im ok.

For me it depends if I'm exercising alot then once or twice a week, if I'm too busy every 2-3 weeks since my hair is very dry but I tend to wash more often when I have alot of new growth because I start to use Miss Jessie's curly buttercreme daily 6 weeks after I get a retouch.

I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks. It's just easier for me with my busy schedule. I dont have to worry about fooling with my hair as much. I also think it helps with less manipulation. If your hair feels dry, try using oils. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mine too! Especially since I put ORS Carrot Oil on my scalp every now and then.. and that stuff already has a not so pleasant smell..

for me, nothing gives my hair that soft moisturized feeling like a fresh wash and conditioning. Unfortunately, I am very busy since Fall semester in school and dont have the time to wash every 3-4 days like I used to. I try to do it every 6-7 days now, but sometimes I get to around day 10 and by then it feels like straw and its shedding badly.

Id like any tips on stretching out washes too! I agree with others who say it seems at some point the more product u put on, the dryer it feels! It goes from bad to worse! lol
