Me!! I usually rebraid my hair every 5-6 weeks, wear a puff or fro for a week and then rebraid it. I will be doing that the remainder of the year and hope to get 6 inches by Jan. 09.

I'm thinking about it. I keep seeing some really cute ones.
I do them myself, so whenever I work up to it, I'll hook it up.
I'll only keep them from 4-6 weeks.

I am! I've been wearing Kinky Twists for a few weeks (thanks for the recommendation, Val) and I love them. I'm thinking about getting them again or Sengalese Twists. I'm 16 weeks post-relaxer; working my way to a 6 month stretch. Who knows, I may even decide to transition.:look:

I always braid my hair during the summer, I have Senegalese twists right now, I am not sure what to get after I take this out

I wish I could do a 6 month stretch then maybe I would take another shot at transitioning again :look:

no problem

can't remember what I told you though:grin:

For the summer I plan on braiding my hair w/o extensions on a weekly basis , why w/o extension so I can avoid the build up on my scalp because Ive been rocking extension since dec 07 and although I was them on a weekly basis , when I would take the extensions out I would have a lot of dirt...So this summer cornrow all over my head and once a week I will leave it out lots of moisture as well + lots of cowash

:nono:

I wore braids from 5th grade .. to 7th .. then most of 9th .. and a bit of this year. Continuously. If my hair hadn't been so jacked up, resulting in a BC, I'd have hair to my feet.

Sick to death of them. Plus, the ones I got in 9th grade [box braids] I got b.c we were swimming for 2 weeks in gym, and leaving them wet and going to my next class RIPPED MY EDGES OUT SOMETHING SERIOUS.

So no, I'm being so good to my hair in 08.:yep::yep:

Leaving braids of your own hair wet ripped your edges out? I don't understand how?

No, they were extensions [box braids] and they were like waistlength .. and I used to wear them in two heidi braids .. and between the length, the tension of pulling them back like that .. and the fact that were wet .. :nono:

Did that make sense ?

I will be braided until August 26, 2008.. then I'm going to take my hair down and cut more of the relaxed hair off and probably get it braided again!

I've been in braids since 11th grade and so far the three weeks my hair has been down has been the longest break between braiding/twisting. I'm thinking about getting twists next week, since they're not as heavy and easier on the hair.

i just got some cornrows in yesterday! I will try to keep them in for the month of May, then i may get my hair plaited with just my hair threw out june :yep:

I've already been in twists for like the last month, I usually start redoing my braids at about 4 weeks just around the edges so they look better, so that my hair doesn't twist, and so those lint ball things don't make me bald. But with these twists I'm redoing my entire head over cuz there seems to be a lot more matting than what I normally get with braids.

I've found this to be true as well. I like the way twists look better than braids but I hate the matting that goes with the twists; I remember when I took my last set of twists out my hair looked like really ugly locs. It took FOREVER to detangle.

If she went swimming then maybe it was in a chlorinated pool and it put a lot of additional stress on her edges do to dryness; hopefully she will come back and explain.

after only having my braids in for a week... i had to take them out, because the my hair doesnt like synthetic hair... oh well

me! i think i am gonna get fishbone cornrows done with my own hair. i will get them redone every two weeks till the fall.

after that i will get kinky twists in october and do them over every two months till May when i BC

I usually have my hair braided for 3-6 weeks at a time and will be getting it braided tomorrow in invisible braids, that I hope to last until July.

I am I am! uh :look: even though I look like a gangbanger :ohwell: I gotta let this bad dye job grow out so my hair can stand up again.:wallbash:

Shoot I'm already there my pic is in my siggy...I do fine with any kind of braids right now I'm in micros and I'll probably move to cornrows for a different look.

I'm weaving for the summer. :yep: I'm thinking about trying some kinky twists with the Marley Braid hair though.

I hadn't planned on it, but I have a weave right now, and the closure piece restricts my ability to add my msm cream/mn mixture to the center...I am going back to kinky twists to resolve this problem. Plus, I want to be BSL in 2008, and I'm starting law school so I think I will braid till November.

I noticed that the kinky twists were a little dry the first time I got them, so I bought some Dove spray leave in for dry damaged hair, and sprayed twice a day, and my hair was super moisturised when I took it out. I also did ACV rinses to combat the buildup from my growth concoction...
