Over the past few months I've been dutifully following a routine of protective styling and no/low manipulation, but since the holiday season is coming up I've been feeling the need to have that "wow" factor. I'm a really low-maintanence kind of girl, and I've been getting a lot of flack for that recently. People have been saying stuff like "You should start dressing up more and doing something with your hair (which has a lot of NG and is almost 3 months post relaxer), especially this holiday season". I'm not saying that I want to look like I just stepped out of a salon all the time, I just want to look that way for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas :yep:. Do any of you feel the same way?

yeah at first but no I am going to continue doing what I was doing I want to reach my goal, I'll try to think of something really cute but simple. Like maybe pressing out my bang and leaving the rest of my hair natural and in a bun.

I voted maybe. I'm torn between wanting to protect all my lengths and wanting to look special this season. IDK, we'll see :).

I originally was going to 2 Christmas parties in December. Both parties have been canceled :perplexed due to budget cuts. I'm beyond bummed out. I was not only going to show off my BSL hair, but the fact that I've lost weight too. Oh well.

I am still doing protective styles for now. We all know why we do it. I'd love to look cute 24/7 and my hair blowing in the wind  but I am now more interested in retaining length and my hair's health.

For Thanksgiving I'm going to straighten my hair and show off. By Sunday I'm sure I'll be back in a bun.

Oh my goodness I was thinking this! But I think what I'm going to do is just a rollerset for a Christmas party and that's it - an airdried rollerset too! So it will be 'out', which it hasn't been for ages, but not damaged.

I do want to look FIERCE this holiday season, since I wear the same style all/most of the time. So happy that thanks to LHCF my hair will be light and fluffy and beautiful DESPITE my NG.

I voted in between- I will be keeping my hair up but in Dec I will straighten maybe 1-2x. I won't overdo it though

No...I am going all out in May for Graduation!
I am going to buy a human hair half wig to rock this Christmas!

I'm doing something similar to this too. I plan to straighten for Thanksgiving and then do my regular wash and DC that Saturday and then straighten for Christmas but back to bunning that weekend. It will be the bun for me for New Years too.

I definitely want the wow factor this Christmas. I plan to get individual eyelashes and (hopefully) either figuring out a great style to do on my own or some sort of protective style (either half wig or phony pony). With the recession I might just have to settle for the lashes, phony pony and really cute hair jewelry. I want to keep my hair as healthy as possible but still have that wow factor.

Not sure yet. I'll probably do what I always do..wear it out for a while after retouch (which will probably be mid-December I think:look:) and then bun it back up. But of course, the wow factor would be nice too..hmmm
