And does this method help cleanse your scalp and hair as well as using shampoo on full strength? Also what ratio, an approximate, do you use? I know this has been posted on occasions but I did a search and there was about a couple of post. I was doing some reading and I have decided to make some changes on my routines. My hair is on the road to recovery and I just want to break some bad habits once and for all. Thanks in advance for your responses.

i do, my hair cant take it full strength. i dilute elucence shampoo with water and shikakai powder.

I don't dilute because water can help break down the ingredients. I prefer to saturate my hair with alot of water and then add the shampoo. If I did have to dilute due to sensitve scalp. I would put the water in shampoo at the time of shampooing. In other words I would not put it in the whole bottle because of the reason I mention previously about breaking the ingredients.

This sounds similar to what I do. I saturate all my hair then I take a small amount of the shampoo add a little water and then apply it to my hair. I add more shampoo if needed but I always start with a small amount first.

Champagnewishes, if you do end up diluting your shampoo in the bottle, use distilled water instead of tap water. Distilled water doesn't contain any bacteria or salts and that's what they use in most hair products.

I only really diluted my shampoo when I had braids in because it's easier to spray it on when diluted and also rinses out easier.

If you are afraid to dilute it TOO much, you may want to add some type of essential oil to the 'poo your using to combat drying affects

I use all shampoos full strength, and I only lather once, because that SLS in Nexxus shampoos really strips whatever gunk I have in my hair out, and if I lather twice, I'd be asking for dryness.

I dilute also. It allows the shampoo to reach your scalp without having to scrub it in. I use about a "squirt" in a small 20 oz. pitcher.
