How long was your NATURAL hair when you BC'd?

I did it when I had just enough new growth to get braids. I think around two inches. I wore braids for about a year and then I wore a puff. I still love puffs.

I chopped it down to a tapered fade. Then once I stopped getting hair cuts and started letting it grow, I started doing wash and gos with Fantasia IC Gel (blue). So I didn't do the braid thing or use extensions.

Yeah I had a TWA. Maybe 2-3 inches of hair. I went and got a weave the next day. My hair was really too short for it in some spots (like in the crown) though so she had to pull it. :ohwell: She said individual braids would have been better for that length of hair. You need a little bit more for cornrows.

I chopped mine's down to 1 inch all over. But texturized 2 days later. So right now i'm growing the texturizer out, and will chop the rest of those texturized ends off when I get more NG.

ETA: Yep I'm sporting a TWA as of right now since I got it texturized. But have yet to try doing braids, although I know I have enough to put in braids now.

I BC'd a few years ago without realizing what I was really doing. I was leaving for college and just wanted hair I wouldn't have to fuss with. I had about 4" at the crown and 3" on the back & sides. I got individual braids w/ no extentions and kept them in for 1.5 yrs -- my siggy pic is what my hair looked like when I took them out.

I don't remember inches, but it was not a twa, it was mini fro...Had enough to braid up my hair for my sewins.

2 inches. i didn't do any braids until i had 4 inches, and that was just getting my natural hair cornrowed up into a ponytail. i just let my hair grow out into that weird in-between phase... i was preggo i didn't care to do my hair most of the time :lachen:

I had about 1/2in to an inch. For the first few months I really could only wear it in a tiny fro. I probably could have done twists or braids, but I was lazy and not creative. After it got to like 3in. I wore cornrows back to back for months, under hats, scarves, and wigs.

About 2-3 inches. Definitely enough to catch hair. I wore half-wigs and weaves. It's been over a year and a half and still don't wear it out too often yet. I'm cultivating length under the half-wigs and looking forward to wearing it out during the warmer months.

My hair was about 4-5"

I mostly just wore my hair out with scarves or hair accessories in a shake and go.

Did you have a TWA?

-:yep: Yep; it was about 1.5 inches long when I BC'ed.

Did you have enough to get braids?

-Not really....I believe I waited a couple of months to get a little more length before getting braids.

What style did you wear it in?

-TWA daily (basically). Sometimes I would wet my TWA and "coil it".

Did you have a TWA?

-Nope, I transitioned about a year.

Did you have enough to get braids?

-Since I transitioned, I had relaxed hair that gave me enough length to get cornrows

What style did you wear it in?

-I wore cornrows for about 9 months (August 2005 until May 2006) with gradual trims and then BC'ed the following June.

It reached about 7-8 inches since my last relaxer (Feb 2005), and with the gradual 1" trims every 2 months, I didn't have much to BC, it was more like a "Lil Chop", so it was less dramatic for me.
