How long does it take for split ends to appear?

So I'm on day 49 of my hair journey and I'm on a 5 day wash cycle (I don't co wash). I don't PS, I do wear my hair up in a low manipuation style and moisturize my ends that are out mid day and my regimen is seemingly good for my hair. I'm 8 1/2 weeks post and my ng (about an inch) has never been so soft and manageable. I still blow dry and flat iron after each wash:blush: (Horrible I know!). At the start of my journey I got a trim and my ends are still looking good but I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for split ends to appear? Should I go to a 7 day wash cycle because I still use heat? Basically my hair seems to be doing very well (right now), still a little breakage but I'm still working on getting my techniques down - less combing, gentle handling, less tangles as I wash etc.
I'd post my regimen but it's on excel:(

Everyone's hair is different. Some people do exactly what you do to no detriment. Just monitor your hair. Try to ensure that your blowdryer is not too hot. How about trying to air dry till 80% dry and then blow dry the rest of the way. You never want to blow dry 100% dry anyway unless you are doing it with cool air. Also a little tip I read from Hijabiflygirl, try not to make your flatiron go over 285 for the relaxed portion of your hair.

Thank you so much - THose are good tips! Since I wear my hair up I guess I don't need it bone straight - I'll try that on my next wash:)

I don't get spilt ends anymore since I don't use direct heat on a regular basis and that has been about 3 years ago. So it depends on your hair and what you do to it. I still have to learn how to stop breakage that is the problem I have with my hair. It is not alot but it bothers me. Your hair may just not be prone to splits since it is healthy.
