How long do you leave your braids in?

okay- is how long do you leave braids in without redoing them or how long do you keep the style?

I keep mine in for about 8 weeks before I do a touch up; I keep the style for months and one time I wore braids for 3 years. I just took mine out 2 days ago after being in for 8 months, but I know I hate taking care of my hair so I'm sure it will be braided up again in a couple months. I never have my hair out for more than 6 months.

im wondering....does anyone "not" wash their hair while in braids. ive never done this since ive been doing braids. of course then i never used to wash my hair that often. now that i wash my hair often, my scalp is feeling icky and im used to washing almost everyday. im just scared of the braids coming out or frizzing up? its synthetic. i clean my scalp with seabreeze once a week though

For those that's using synthetic hair. What are you using to keep the moisture in your hair. I'm using MTG for my scalp, but it seems that the hair never stays moisturized even though the MTG is oily. Any suggestions.

I use a product by Taliah Waajid www.blackearthproducts.com but I buy it at the local beauty store for 6.00. Protectve Mist Bodifier,is the name of it. It smell slightly fruity, very pleasent,light on the hair. It protects the hair in the braids,and the new growth, like sta-so-fro, but w/out the build-up, and keeps my hair really soft. Excellent detangler for take down as well

Ingrediants: Pure distilled water,wheat germ, indian hemp,olive oil, balsam, aloe vera,bee pollen, silk protein,bay laurel,friut bioflavonoids,ancient african herbal formula.

I do NOT, and I've never had any problems with matting. It works for me.

Ajargon Your braids look nice. What did you do/use at the end of the braid, to stop it from unraveling?
