First, you do know that Botanoil is a shampoo, right? A lot of people seem to think that it's an oil or something. I know my mom gets it confused with the Botanic Oil all the time, so I'm putting that out there just in case.

Anyway, the shampoo is okay, I just feel for my hair it's not moisturizing enough. Therappe works better for me, but for my mom it's the opposite and Botanoil works better for her. I think it depends on the person.

I use the Botanoil shampoo because when I went to the site, it was one of the shampoos recommended for my issue at the time. I love it but Im thinking about trying the humectress shampoo, just to see if I get more moisturizing effects.

It sounds like she could be talking about the oil though, because I dont think many people see shampoo as a leave in. That too is next on my purchase list.

I love Nexxus Botanic Oil. On the bottle it is referred to as a "… natural oil replenisher." It does indeed replenish and condition my hair. I use it everyday, right before I wrap my hair up at night.

As an alternative option, I use the Aphogee Essential Fatty Acids Oil COncentrate, it has the same ingredients as the Botanic Oil and is $7 for a larger bottle, but it is thick, so a lot goes a long way. I add it to my relaxers and elasta mango butter. I love it have used it since 2002. I took a break from it and jsut went back and now I never plan to be without it.

Botanic Oil Ingredients: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Lecithin, Tocopherol.

I love it! I use it mix with with water in my spray bottle. I mix it with aloe vera gel when i twist my hair, and I add it to my conditioner. And every once in a while I do a hot oil treatment with it. It may sound like over kill, but I don't struggle with dry brittle hair no more.

I agree. I use the Aphogee brand but the same--brittle hair is non existent. I find that it works well mixed with other products--my relaxer & my moisturizer--the mango butter.

Here are the ingredients for the aphogee essential fatty acids oil concentrate:
soybean oil (linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, linolenic acid, stearic acid). lecithin, sesame oil, corn oil, benzoic acids, proplyparaben.

Bajan, do you ever use the oil alone or do you always mix it? I think I am going to run to Sally's and get this. Dang, I was suppose to be on a 'no new products puchase kick'. But hey I think this is an exception since it is winter.

I like it, but use it now only to mix w/Humectress and Keraphix. I don't care for the smell, which isn't strong but just not my cup of tea. It's on the heavier side, so use it sparingly :) . But like all Nexxus products its a winner! @ MNT Users :D

When I used it 2 years ago, I used to only apply it to my hair and tie it down. THe probelm was If i used too much--it would not absorb, I could literally see the oil sitting on my strands. NOW: by mixing it with the mango butter, it absorbs quick. I mean last night, I wanted to refresh my rolller set withouth washing my hair. I did the mix, popped in those rollers and today again, body, movement, shine. I

WGO v. APHOGEE EFA OIL CONCENTRATE
THe differene is the ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS. I have WGO, I think it is a regular oil infused with minerals & vitiams. EFA is fatty acids, like what u get when you have fish, fish oil, cod liver oil, evening primrose oil--essential fatty acids--natural healthy moisturizers.

Now, mind you, I think the MANGO BUTTER & THE APHOGEE is working EXTRA WELL because of the Elucence. Last week when I washed with a regular poo & used the EFA & mango butter, my hair was great--but it was not SILKY. I was smooth and super shiny and had movement but now I have a SILKY TEXTURE, I think because I boosted my moisture content with the elucence poo & conditioner and the mango butter & EFA just locks it in.

POST YOUR EXPERIENCE WHEN U USE IT.

Keracare essential hair oil is really good. It is not greasy at all - and it has a light coconut smell. It makes my hair so sofyt and moisturized.
