BAILEYSCREAM said:Elasticity can be lost when your hair has been overprocessed, dyed with chemicals, when it dries out eg if you have braids in for long periods and don't moisturize or wash them or keep the hair moist.
Hair that lacks elasticity would break easily once manipulated.
To get it back, you would have to keep it moisturized, deep condition it twice weekly for example, steam it....use moisturizing products on the hair and oils to seal in the moisture once it is wet and before it dries. All this will bring the moisture back into the hair strands.....I've had this problem and that's what i did to bring the hair back.....Personally, I also find that washing the hair 2-3 times a week helps to keep it moist...I add olive oil to the hair after first coating my ends with conditioner.
To quote people, just click the quote button below their post like I did above to quote you.![]()

blackhair said:I was about to ask the same question too. My hair has become so lifeless, thin an cottony since I did a weave for about 2 months. The hair is not dry but very very cottony like baby's hair. Now i am thinking if I put more moisterizers/water isn't going to worse? Do you think I should cut it all off or are there products that can help bring it back to life ? Please advise.
