Like your scarves, satin pillow cases, headbands, etc?

I'm curious because when I was younger my aunt, who is a great source for many things, would tell us teens not to put the items we put on our head in the wash with the rest of the laundry.

She said that the detergent could be harsh on our heads, and that the best thing we could do was to wash these items with our shampoo and condition them too.

This was for everything we used on our heads to include our brushes and combs. So since I was around 13 or so whenever I wash my hair, I've tried to wash my hair care accessories at the same time, and allowing them to drip dry.

So how about you?

I throw scarves and bonnets it in the laundry. I use natural detergents, so there's nothing too harsh. If I'm in a hurry, I wash it by hand using hand soap from the bathroom or kitchen. The fabric dries fast so its no big deal.

I wash combs, plastic clips and barrettes in boiling water from the tea kettle and dish washing detergent.

My Du-rags, Scarves, Netted Wig Caps I put in a Bucket and Soak with Shampoo.

I 'rarely' if ever, use Shampoo, so the miscellaneous the Shampoos I have in my stash, I use to clean my Hair Accessories.

This is a good way for me to use up the shampoos I have just sitting in my Stash.

I throw my scarves, pillows, etc. in the washing machine. My brushes, parting combs, etc. are washed with shampoo and hot water.

My head scarves go in the washing machine to get washed combs brushes etc gets washed in hot soapy water

My satin pillow cases I stick in the wash with everything else. Scarves, headbands, scrunchies, etc. I hand wash in the sink with Woolite. Combs, I wipe down with damp cloths. Brushes, I use a comb to get out the loose hair, otherwise I just buy new ones if they look a little gunky.

I don't wash scrunched, after they look like they are dirty I toss them and get new ones but I wash my combs and brushes with shampoo. Like right now I'm washing with the burts bees shampoo because dried my hair out so didn't just want to trash it so it came into some use. But other than that it can be with the shampoo I'm using. But I really didn't know people washed their stuff out because I never see no one do it, or say they do it, but I really think some people don't eww

I put them in the washing machine on a quick wash and let air dry if they're fabric.
Combs and plastics I wash in hot water with shampoo.

I wash all my scarves, fabric headbands, scrunchies and bonnets in a lingerie bag in the washing machine. But I hang the whole bag up to air dry. I don't want fabric softener sheet residue on my hair.

I wash my combs and brush and plastic headbands by hand with dish soap.
