I just bought some today and I am not sure what to do with it. I bought the edible kind from the supermarket. It has a crisco-like consistency. So how is everyone using theirs? Do you put it on your hair, your scalp, do you use it as a moisturizer, do you put it on the whole strand or just the ends? I really don't know. It seems like less people are using this now. It used to be the jump-off when I first started lurking. Any suggestions are welcome.

I love this stuff. I use it to seal in my moisturizer pretty much all over my hair. I also use it on my braid out in the same way.

I usually rub it into my palms so that it melts to a oil consistency. I use it as a sealant or sometimes with my conditioners. I fyou want it to stay at an oil consistency you can store it ON TOP of your fridge where it is nice and warm but not too hot.

Pretty much like Letitia. I use it as a moisture sealant on wet hair. It also dubs as a body oil for me too.

I like adding it to my deep conditioner mix. I also alternate between that and amla over my moisterizer. The edible kind has lots of great uses. I usually buy 2; one for hair and body, the other for cooking.

I use coconut oil as a sealant, a pre-poo and a body oil.

Good Tip! Mine was always melted when I left it in the kitchen. I didnt think to just sit on top of the fridge. I will do that when I want to add a little to my conditioner. This is my next experiment with it. giggles. Thanks.

I can just about always get a question answered at LHCF before I even ask:D My ebay order of food grade coconut oil should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas. I also plan to eat a few spoonfuls daily too:lachen:

Thanks eveyone for the tips!!! I will try using it as a sealant and also for shine with my bun. I will also put half of it aside for me to consume for weightloss and hair growth. Thanks again!
