How do you use Olive Oil in your hair?

I'm wondering how you ladies use it.

Do you just apply the oil as it is to your scalp and cover it? or do you mix it with another product? (Please specify the name of the product)

Have you seen any noticeable changes?

I apply it to my dry hair, cover with a plastic cap,and let it sit for X-amount of hours. Kinda like a hot-oil or conditioning pre-poo.

My hair feels softer after washing and conditioning when I use this method.

I use it religiously as a pre-poo.

I divide my hair into sections, comb the oil through, and let sit for a half hour. Then I shampoo and condition.

I notice drastic changes, which is why I use it so often. It makes my hair feel like silk. I love to use it as a pre-poo because the shampoo removes any "greasy" feeling while still leaving the soft silky feeling left by the oil.

I do the same as the other posters. I pre poo with it. Just pour it on in sections and massage it in, leave it on for however long i feel like, lol, no less than 15 mins.

I only stopped because I got lazy and forgot to buy more and then got out of the habit.

I absolutely love olive oil. Not the extra virgin but plain olive oil. I mix it with NTM leave in or what ever I'm moisturizing with. I mix it cause I'm to lazy to moisturize then seal. I def can see the benefits from it. I'm still trying to figure out why my hair don't like coconut oil. hmmmm

I'm not sure if this is too late, but I use olive oil for hot oil treatments and deep conditioning. As a hot oil treatment, I apply it to my damp hair and allow it to sit in my hair for 30-45 minutes. As a deep treatment, I mix it with honey and my conditioner, usually a cheapie, and let it sit in my hair for about an hour. Either way I use it, I always end up with well moisturized hair.

Thanks for all these answers. I want to use it to protect my hair.
I see everyone use it as a pre-poo or a conditioner but I'm going to try using it as a leave-in conditioner and see what happens.

I find it too heavy to use as a leave in. But then again, I have fine, relaxed hair. I suppose it would be fine for naturals. I DC with it. LeKair cholesterol, followed by a generous covering of EVOO, cover with a cap, 30 minutes under the dryer=supersoft hair.
I am going to try the prepoo mentioned in this thread also.

I dc with it and now that I am transitioning I use it as a leave in. Also, I add it to my rollerset lotion. EVOO works so much better than EVCO for me.

I use EVOO as my pre-poo in the winter. I mix it with water and put a conditioning cap on my head for 30 min-1hr. So far I like it because I think it helps protect my hair (esp since my current shampoo has drying sulfates).
For my rollerset I seal with a bit of EVOO and in the winter I also apply a little to my scalp.
