How do you use Healthy Hair Butter?

I just got this and was wondering how do people apply it to their new growth.I tried parting my hair and applying it but doing that on wet hair is a recipe for tangles and bumpy hair.
Also how much do you ladies use on your new growth?

I use it(lots of it) on wet hair for the best results...but I have also used it on dry hair once my hair has dried...but if my hair has a buildup or is dirty ...then using it on dry hair only makes it worse.

I need to figure this one out too. It seems too heavy for my wet hair.

It could be too heavy for wet hair, but it just depends on how you plan to style your hair and how much you use. For example, if I'm only going to put my hair in a wet ponytail, I can use a little moer to seal in the moisture from the water. However, if I plan to wear it down, I would only put a very little to create some shine to it.

I have 4a/b relaxed shoulder length hair and i use it when I airdry... and last night i used put some of it on my palms and just kinda pulled it through my hair... I like it. But I think that if your hair isn't as thick as mine, then it may be too much to use it on dry hair.

I always apply my hhb to my just washed wet hair. I don't have any problems with this. I just scoop a bit out with my fingers and apply to my hair - from just after scalp to about two inches or so down. Before I do this, my hair is already detangled and I just part in sections to apply the hhb. After I finishing applying it, I smooth my hair back with no problems.

I'm starting to wonder why others are having a problem with this...?? Are you guys parting your hair in sections or just grabbing the butter and putting it on your hair? Part in one to two inch sections and you shouldn't have a problem. If your hhb isn't soft and creamy, warm it up so it spreads evenly.

Once in a while, I'll use it on dry hair. For example, last night, I reparted my hair (changed middle to side part) so I spritzed my hair with a moisturizing mixture and then rubbed some hhb in my hands and then over my hair. I smoothed my hair with my comb and then put on my scarf.

So Hairlove, you don't put any on the rest of your hair?Just the first 2 inches?
I put it all over today and my hair isn't quite dried yet.It feels kind of hard right now but I don't want to judge it yet.

katie,

No, I do not apply it all over my hair. Just the first 2 inches or so. I concentrate it there and maybe run my hands down the rest of the length b/c I don't want to weigh my hair down and make it too greasy. My main point in doing this to my hair is to keep my line of demarcation moisturized but I've also learned to love it's smoothing properties. I do not use a lot...just a little bit on my fingertips.

I use it all over. Then when it still damp I smooth on some of the Hair Honey for shine. The combination is very moisturizing. I like the fact that it gives my curls some 'hold' with out being drying. When I don't use it my curls are not as defined or shiney and tend to be thin instead of fat and 'springy'. I run my fingers through my hair when it is completly dry...and the curls after a few minutes spring back...no matter how hard I run my fingers through my hair(like built in memory). I don't get the same results when I don't use the butter. I am stocked up both on these 2 products...don't want to run out...
