I am trying to be old school and use one ....so far my results have not been to hot. Any advice? I tried pinkskates guide but my hair still looked frumpy. Maybe, it was the comb I bought. IDK.

Hello

I find that it's best when you wash your hair you blow dry it as straight as possible, which menas you don't have to use the hot comb on it for too long or too often.

Use something like Dax Pressing Oil/Grease (nothing water based as it makes the hair revert and will not hold the press). Grease the scalp lightly when you make the parting and also dab some grease, again, lightly not lots, onto the hair itself and pass the pressing comb through it.

The pressing comb that heats up in the electric thing it better than the one you put on the stove/cooker I find.

If the blow drying makes you hair come out really straight then you can just press the roots and the ends only. The press should last for a good three weeks or even longer. When you first start doing it, you may need to do it every week then gradually pro-long the amount of times you do it. You'll definately see the difference over time.

To keep it until you do it next make sure you sleep with a headscarf that allows your scalp to breathe. Plus make sure you wrap your hair and secure it with hair pins to keep it nice and straight.

Hope thie helps... bye :whyme:

I use a Kizure pressing comb - made by an old black owned company so they know how to press it right.

I blow dry, but other than the oils in my condish, I don't add oils. I only use a leave in moisturizer and heat protectants. I use Superstar by TIGI for the blow drying phase and Chi for the press phase. Hair is swang and lovely.

PS I am also a Pink fan and well as IRIS. They are bomb.
