How do you trim natural 4b hair??

I think I need a trim (I suspect I have scab hair). How is this done?

I trimmed yesterday using the twist and clip technique. I did very small to strand twists and clipped the very ends of each twist with very sharp scissors. When I was done I had a cute two strand twist style and all of my ends were clipped.

I do the same but sometimes I don't twist, I just group hairs together and snip.
