How do you know when you need

When my hair feels frizzy or the individual strands feel rough or grooved, I know ivd been slacking in the moisture and protein department. I try to do them together so as not to throw the balance in any one direction too far

If you're washing your hair, and it feels mushy and limp, you need protein.

If you have a strand of hair in your hands, and you stretch it out, and it stretches a far way and then snaps softly, you need protein.

If your hair is breaking off, but it doesn't feel brittle, rough, or dry to the touch, you probably need protein.

If you just had a chemical service, you probably need protein.

For the longest, I thought my hair needed moisture because it felt dry, stiff, and was breaking like crazy. I was DCing (when I remembered/had time) and using Aphogee 2 min and ORS replenishing conditioner every couple of weeks and my hair still felt the same. It wasn't until I tried a different protein treatment that the breakage was significantly reduced. My hair is still breaking but not to the extent it was. I will be using the mixture again the weekend when I relax as a mid-protein treatment, and hopefully the breakage will be reduced even further. :fingers crossed

Thanks ladies and I used AO GPB on my dry hair and I sat under my steamer for 30 minutes. My hair came out fine.
