How do you know when it’s time to let go?

My ends are a dry, frazzly, crunchy mess. They look and feel completely different from the rest of my hair. It’s a totally different texture.:perplexed

There are no split ends and they aren’t heat damaged as I never use heat so what is the problem? And I highly doubt it’s scab hair because I’ve had my hair cut multiple since I’ve had my last relaxer, which was over two years ago. They make up about an inch of my hair and my hair is already short and slow growing to begin with so I’m hesitant to cut them.:nono:

How do you know if your ends are salvageable and can be babied back to health?

How do you know when you just need to cut them and be done with it?

I know it's time to let go of them if they are thin and uneven.

If they arent thin, I'd just baby them and maybe do a little dusting.

Thin ends are a sign I need to bring out the scissors.

If my ends can't hold a curl, that's an indicator to me that I need a trim.

I was just about to say that. I had to trim about a half inch from my son's hair because the ends were not curling like the rest of his hair. He would have curly hair with "clumps" at the ends. Now his wash and gos are looking good again.

Yea I agree with other ladies, cut them. It's better to cut them then have them break off..........I might have to get a trim in a couple months myself.....

I would try henna if I were you. With whole fat yogurt, honey and oil in the mix.

It really can help texturize troubled hair. At least for a bit until you grow it out and cut to length.

But, cutting them off and moving on it not a bad idea either.
