I know the first step in keeping length is to stop breakage.
What has helped some of you keep length? /images/graemlins/confused.gif This is a major problem for me. My hair grows fast, but I really don't see the progess /images/graemlins/frown.gif Can you give me some tips??

Thanks /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi Kamilla,

One of the things that helped me was understanding that the ends of my hair are the oldest part, so they need the most care. As long as you can keep the ends of your hair, you'll gain length. I've found that constantly moisturizing my hair, particularly my ends, has helped me to experience less breakage, and gain more length. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

For me it's been keeping my ends moisturized, wearing it in a protective style and simplifying my routine so I don't have to manipulate my hair alot.

the key to keeping my ends has been to wash, condition, moisturize, braid it and tuck, add a cute safe hairbow and voila. by doing this i am not tempted to play in it. I just take the braid out, moisturize it and the rest of the hair every day, and tuck it back under. And when I do decide to wear my hair down, there is a noticeable difference and my ends look freshly cut and full. HTH /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks /images/graemlins/smile.gif Just one more question, what do you use to keep your ends moisturized? /images/graemlins/confused.gif Would S-curl spray help??

Moisture, moisture, moisture. I never let my hair get dry. This seems to be working very well and the ends are being preserved while the growth is kicking in.

S Curl spray will work wonders for you, if your hair likes it /images/graemlins/smile.gif. i find the consistency very thin. I prefer Curl free curl gold with profective break free. A LOT of women have had major success with S curl.

i'm a bit late but to moisturise my hair lately, i rinse it wit water and apply some africa best olive oil on my hair and then some s-curl on top and i've noticed a HUGE diffference in my hair coz my hair is usually very dry but lately i been amazed at how moisturised it has been...

s-curl will definatly help wit moisturising /images/graemlins/smile.gif and if u think that it is too thin u cud find another activator to use coz they have water and glyceryn as the top two ingredients and these are very good wit moisturising hair

Londondiva....I find the S Curl to be thin as well. Maybe it will work better in the summer. For now I am also loving the CFC.

My #1 suggestion for keeping length would be to stay away from scissor happy hair stylists. That has made the most difference for me.

I'm sorry . i know you were serious about that but for some reason it made me laugh. /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

But seriously, that is a good suggestion.

Thanks Daviine...For real though girl, my last hair stylist definition of a trim was 2 inches. Silly me didn't pick up on how she always turned me away from the mirror to trim my hair. I was so blind /images/graemlins/shocked.gif because she was so good with everything else. I didn' t know until my mother pointed out that my hair was getting shorter and I quote "that girl gone have yo' hair up to yo' neck" ...

What has really been helping me keep my length and keep my hair from breaking is using my fingers to get out tangles, not combing so much, keeping my ends moisturized and leaving my hair alone.
