How Do YOU Get That Silky, Soft Look???

My hair is always silky soft, and the reason I cannot keep my man from touching it. He even commented yesterday that my hair is always so soft.

The only thing that makes it that way is my blow dry / flat iron lotion which is just a shaken up mix of Silicone oils and Hemp Seed oil. Of course my clarifying and deep conditions add to it, as well.

It lasts for days.

*Disclaimer, this may go against some anti-coners, but this is how my 4a/b gets tamed:p *

The way I get my hair to feel soft and silky is a silicone rich poo and con (along with moisture of course,) Such as NTM. And using a silcone serum before I blowdry and while flat ironing. How do you wear your hair?

Oh, and also less is more when trying to get that bouncy look. I find that if I load my hair with oils/moisturizers/and even cones my hair will be limp and heavy. I only use a few drops of oil at a time.

Also, when is the last time you clarified? It may be that time or your products maybe too heavy.

WHOO I HAVEN'T CLARIFIED IN A LITTLE MINUTE...THIS WEEK I'M WEARING MY HAIR OUT...I'M IN ROLLERS NOW AND IT FEELS SMOOTH..I DO HAVE NTM I USE IT AND I LOVESSS IT ALOTSSS L0L...BUT I DON'T USE A LOT WHEN FLAT IRONING JUST A LITTLE BIT OF SERUM

Yea, sounds like it's that time to clarify
I would clarify, do a deep conditioning and then style. When you clarify don't lather twice. Once good time is enough. I learned that lesson and I stripped my hair so bad.

The three things that make my hair soo so soft are
1. Coconut milk+jojoba oil pre poo
2. Eulesence as a leave in
3. Rollersetting with rosewater instead of my usual setting lotion.

I did this today and my hair is softer than it has ever been. I dc with ORS pack and shampooed with eulesence shampoo. It also smells heavenly

No matter what cons I use, my hair is only really soft and silky and bouncy after I rollerset it. It's like a different head of hair. Blowdrying and flatironing will get it smooth and shiny, but there's nothing like the set.

Same here.

For the most part my hair is always silky. Rollersetting and Kenra MC does the trick for me.

Cosigning on Kenra MC. This is a great conditioner! works very well without heat. Sometimes it makes my hair too soft if I leave it on for too long.

I also agree.. Minimum Products is the key!! If I load my hair down with stuff... it just sits there asking me "what's up wit this?"

Wet set with NTM silk touch + serum
or blow dry with the same= good results!!

I totally agree. I used to load my hair with all kinds of crap thinking that I was "moisturizing". When I realized that less really is more I got hair that I never thought I had all this time - shine, bounce, body and softness.

I totally agree w/minimum products, rollersets and moisturizing DC w/cones. My silicone mix leaves my hair flawless, I usually only use it when I'm 10wks post and beyond to tame the NG, but last wk I pulled it out a couple of wks early and my hair felt like butter when I rinsed it out. On top of that after I rollerset it on smaller rollers than usual, it was sooooooo soft and bouncy, the shine was spectacular also. I really loved my hair, this was actually my best rollerset, and I got alot of compliments from my customers.

I use a small amount of Humectress and a lot of hemp seed butter or avocado butter as my leave ins. This combination leaves my hair very silky and soft.

WHY IS SILICONE BAD FOR YOUR HAIR??
Silicone isn't bad for your hair, it just builds up on the hair when used, at least it does for me. I avoid it so I don't have to clarify as often.

for me its airdrying and then adding a bit of grease and twisting.

when i take it out its a bit oily (which i dont mind at all)

but the next days ahead its just lovely. i dnt moisturize during the week at all, maybe day 4 to refresh the smell

In my personal opinion, the less products you use (to leave-in) , the bouncier and softer your hair will be.

i agree with rollersetting...with a touch of NTM silk touch leave-in...my hair always ends up silky smooth.

As others have mentioned, rollersetting gives me that silky look. I airdry my hair in a rollerset and I'm so glad I learned how to do it.:)
