How do you decide Braids or Weave

I am trying to decide for the sake of my hair growing healthy what I should do. Let me be honest here, I am in the suburbs and the ethnic look may bring me more attention then I would like. The weave not as much. I am trying to do something that would give my hair a rest and allow it to grow healthy and possibly transition. I also think that a weave will allow me the versitlity that I need as far as a professional appearance. the only thing is that concerns me about the weave is that I would have to leave some of my hair out which would not give all of it a rest and I have yet to see a full head weave that looks good. So if anyone has experience that they can share let me know. Also if you know of a really good stylist in NJ let me know.
Thanks

You don't have to leave out a ton of hair in a weave. Just enough to conceal the weft.

To me, it sounds as though you've already decided on the weave, and I say go for it. There are so many types of hair to choose from.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what weave styles best protect your hair and matches your hair texture (for new growth).

Also, how long can you wear a weave before it looks old or your real hair starts to show?

Where in Jersey?

I am doing the weave. I only have a teeny-weeny bit of hair out in the front. I flat iron that part once a week. That part is pretty much all natural now and I am a 4a/b

Well Yaki is a texture typially used for permed hair. I typically wear a weave for a month and half (6 weeks) but I go back to the salon and get it tightened regularly. And I buy the best hair I can get. There are SOO many textures of weave, you really need to go to a shop. Here's a site that demonstrates the variety in textures, colors, brands:

I like human hair weave, for its versatility. I can be curled, cut, etc. My beautician won't cut that synthetic hair.

can human weave be used for braidouts as well?

i think i might try another weave (my 2nd one), but i dont want it to look too fake. and i want to be able to switch it up. i might get it cut in layers

I will go to essex, middlesex union county. I just want it to look good. No messy itchy stuff. Can you let me know who did yours. Do you have a picture? Thanks It is kind of hard finding someone with a good weave where I am. (read no black folks)

I always get human hair weaves, and yes you can do a braid out. I always just follow the directions you see in magazines like Allure. I do two french braids and sleep with them in over night on damp hair and in the morning you have soft waves.
