How do you accurately measure new growth?

I have been caring for my hair day in and day out. My regimen is pretty tight and I think I'm progressing as much as expected. I usually let my hair air dry after my DC's and during my last wash, it felt like I had about an inch of new growth in the crown of my head (Actually I used my thumb to measure and it was pretty close from tip to joint.) I was so excited because it seemed like my efforts were working! I'm about 4 weeks post, and it sounds about right! SUCCESS!!

Yesterday i washed and let my hair air dry again this morning when I woke up, it didn't feel like nearly as much new growth. Has this happened to anyone else? WHY IS MY HAIR PLAYING WITH ME!! :wallbash:

How do I accurately measure my hair? Obviously the inch that I reported was not correct. Please explain. I tried to do a search, but it's not working (I keep getting a blank screen) and googling turned up a bunch of unrelated junk.

lately I use the same area to meaure new growth.

Right now I have bangs. I compare my past trim from my eyebrow and now my bangs are at the bridge of my nose when stretched. That is one way.

Depending on if you can determine the difference between your ng and your relaxed hair you can measure that difference.

I hope that was of some help. I have a measuring tape that I use to measure.

that's not normal - an inch is TWICE the normal growth rate for 4 weeks girlie. so i'mma need you to share those growth genes with the rest of us!

you could always recruit someone to measure for you...
