How do I master a wash n go???

Hello everyone,

Now that the weather is hot, I would like to start back with my usual summer wash n go. I've been natural for over 2 years now and these past few days of wash n go is not working in my favor. My right side natural curls appear perfectly and looks great. However, my left side is not curling at all or half-a$$ curl and looks stupid :nono:. I have no idea way one side works better than the other. I wash my hair in the shower with a conditioner, usually HE Moisturizer or Kenra Moisturizing conditioner. Then I apply SheaMoisturizer Curl&Style Milk conditioner and seal with oil. No combing.

What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions??

I'm not an expert on anyone elses head of hair. But for me it took practice and the right products.
For me a frizz free wash and go only happens for me when I plop for about 5-10 minutes and then leave my hair alone.

ETA: Even now I have parts that curl and parts that wave but thats because I have two different textures.

I know about you but I can not use oil on my hair if I am doing a wash and go. The oil is heavy and your hair may be weighing on one side then the other because of the oil. If you found the right product that locks in your curls just try to leave the oil alone.

oh and also wanted to add that try leaving in the conditoner on soaking wet hair and let it dry like that make sure you do not touch it until it drys and if it takes a long time to air dry sit under the dryer.

I say go on yt and search for wash n gos of people with similar hair types, sometimes with a lot of hair stuff its the technique not really the products.

When i wore my texlaxed hair wash and go, this is what I did for a wng ponytail:

1. Gather all products to the shower with me: comb, hair band or scrunchie, shampoo/conditioner, silicone product and leave in, and towel.

2. After shampooing with Keracare hydrating poo and then conditioning while cleaning the rest of my body, I'd comb the hair back under the water to free it of tangles. I'd also bend over WAY backwards and start to comb it up into the ponytail

3. I'd put some leave in conditioner in, or more of the conditioner I just used, while it was sopping wet, and just squeegee the rest out of hair, while bent backwards

4. Gather hair into ponytail holder using only a brush to smooth down the edges. You don't want to comb here because it separates the curls, you should have already detangled.

5. Use a holding product (gel) and scrunch into the waves and curls

6. If your hair is long you can flip it up off your back and neck and clip the tail in the middle to the back of your head, and let some of the curls cascade over the bun for a shorter look

7. Wrap a towel gently around your head to absorb excess moisture, and protect do while you take care of any other shower business.

I have to shingle when I want my curls to look somewhat uniform. Just using leavein or conditioner doesn't work for me.
