OK Ladies......I've never been a weave girl, but for a change(back in my relaxed days) about 3 yrs ago i got my first weave. It was GREAT! :grin:the stylist took very good care not to braid it too tight and also to leave some of my edges out so they wouldn't break.

After taking it out, i went to the dominican salon for them to wash and set it and blow it out. WRONG!:wallbash:

She tangled my hair SOOOOO much that after washing it there was a HUGE KNOT at the very top of my head. Needless to say she spent the next half hour trying to get it out which left me with a chunk of hair in the trash

This also left me with a thinning spot on the top of my head that I CANNOT get to grow back for NOTHING! I massage it every other day with my sulfur oil mix and the rest fo my hair is responding to the products/viatmins I take....BUT NOT THIS DARN SPOT!

PLS HELP! Im not sure what to do anymore and I want a head FULL of HAIR!

Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear about this.

You can try growth serums. The Jane Carter Solution & Karen's Body Beautiful have growth serums.

Also, many ladies say they've grown their edges back w/ Boundless Tresses, Bee Mine, and Jamaican Black Castor Oil. Perhaps some of those will work for you.

You can also try a mixture that Nonie used for hair growth. I've posted the mixture and instructions below.

Thyme essential oil--2 drops
Atlas cedarwood essential oil--2 drops
Lavender essential oil--3 drops
Rosemary essential oil--3 drops
Jojoba oil--1/2 teaspoon
Grapeseed oil--4 teaspoons

Add the first four ingredients into a small glass jar. Mix well. Now add the two remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Massage this mixture into your scalp for at least two minutes every night. Wrap your head in a warm towel after treatment.

Have you tried MT and/or JBCO with scalp massage? Both have worked wonders for my temples.

Black castor Oil has been helping my edges to fill in. Maybe you can add an essential oil to it and massage the area? Also, a lot of ladies have been using MN with good results. Again, I am sorry this happened to you, but be patient, you will bounce back. Just remember whenever you take down weaves or braids, it so is so important for you to properly detangle your hair and do an overnight treatment of an oil mixed with conditioner.

Thanks Diva for the recipe!

Aspire....what is JBCO and MT?

I am taking 2000 mcg biotin and 300mg fish oil everyday( just started last week). I co-wash about 2 times a week and DC once a week. I also shampoo once a week. Every other night i massage my scapl with my sulfur oil mix.....shouldn't this help:ohwell:

It might, but it may take a while to see results. Also, don't be afraid to try different things if you've been doing something for quite a while and haven't seen any results.

Perhaps Ayurvedic oils may work for you too, or the follicle invigorator from Hydratherma Naturals.

Ok so you are the 2nd person that has mentioned the castor oil so .....I'm running downstairs to the BSS to get some NOW!

I take some responsibility for not conditioning b 4 i went to the salon.....but you would think a "hair stylist" would know those type of things. BTW it was my first weave so I had no clue how to treat my hair after it came down.

" Education is KEY!"

Regular castor oil at least 2x's a week appied to the hairline has been heling to fill in and thicken up my edges.

MT is MegaTek and JBCO is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. Sorry - I am an acronym fiend. I tend to alternate between the two using MT to moisturize and then some other oil to seal, or moisturize with something else and then JBCO to seal. My left temple has been a problem area for years. It still will break easily so I baby it, but it has filled in dramatically since I started my hair journey in March/April. It takes time, but it worked for me.

ETA: Someone mentions mixing the two for edges as well. It is in the thread below.

Did you comb out the hair first before asking them to wash it?

OK....I just went outside and bought some JBCO and Peppermint Oil. I alos got a spout bottle and mixed the two together...hopefully this helps....i'm oretty impatient when it comes to things like this but I'm gonna stick with it because of all the good reviews I hear about it

BTW should i be mixing the JBCO or not?

Did this happen 3 years ago and you've been having problems ever since or did this happen recently? If it's been that long, I wonder if it has something to do with overall health as well...zinc levels?

Try MT mixed with castor oil...

I was going through some health problems at the time and i've recently started taking vitamins ( Biotion, Vit C, Fish Oil, Garlic, Aloe and Parsley) so maybe withinthe next few months with the vitamins, the JBCO, and proper care for my ENTIRE head we will see the difference.

I'll take a before pic today and post an after pic in about 3 months using my JBCO mix. I'll let you guys know how it works and i'm sure the pics will be the deciding factor.

here is a b 4 shot
