How do I fix this curl fro?

mischka

shrinkage.
I seem to only have curls at the end... I think.... the first pics are what my hair looks like when it's wet. the second pics are how it dries - the curls are only at the ends and the bulk of my hair is pretty undefined. i should mention there are no products in my hair in these pics. shampooed and conditioned and rinsed out all the conditioner.

what should i do if i want to wear a wash and go?

(the stick straight hair is my heat damaged bangs.)

i normally braid while my hair is still wet, but i still have issues with the ends drying one way and the hair closest to my scalp being thick and bushy.

maybe if you add some condish or a leave-in or gel you could preserve some of the definition all the way down to the ends...the bangs you could twist &/or roll with perm rods or small rollers.

It looks like you may need to use a curl enhancer product to help with your curls. Here are the two I tried:

I use Aveda Curl Enhancer or Style-Prep both from their Be Curly Line.

I used to also have success with Miss Jessies Quick Curls.

I would suggest working on getting more moisture to hair (overall) as that seems to help getting my curls to pop evenly. What are you using for a DC? and What are you using for a Leave-in?

yeah moisture is my main issue. im addressing it now. i recently bought mizani moisturfusion for a dc - have only used it once. i tried to purchase some qhemet amla heavy creme but they didnt have any at the store so i will have to buy it online.

my main issue is dryness... i have a looser curl on cottony hair... this is a bad mix. most pics i see of curls similar to mine are on shinier looking hair.

by the way when i went to the store and they didnt have the amla creme i got some giovanni shampoo and conditioner instead. wheeeeee my hair is feeling similar to the light and fluffy way it gets when i go to the salon. i bet it would feel even better if i had that amla leave in

This is a pic of my hair that wasn't shingled. I think I had it in a puff and let it loose to show length:

This is my hair dry no product:

The pic below in my siggy is my shingled hair.

this is how my hair is:yep: honeycomb is the closest to my hair i have seen looser curl with a ''afro texture''

mixing a conditioner with gel and focusing on the roots may help to reduce some of the bigness your getting at the roots
also start looking at where your hair naturally clumps and apply your products accordingly

My hair is pretty much the same way (it's spongy, but it's definitely not silky)...as it has grown it has started to really only spiral at the ends because the rest is weighed down. I just always use a leave-in condish, and if I want to prevent my hair from getting too big (like in my profile pic) I use a gel or serum to tame it a bit.
