How did you decide your hair was in better condition?

For me, it was when I noticed it a single strand getting caught on ponyholders and stuff. I hadn't felt any hairs pulling in years. Before, the end (or middle) would snap off at the slightest tug so I never felt any pull on the root at all. :(

It happens all the time now. :D How about ya'll? When did you decided "hey, I think it's getting better."

I knew my hair was thriving when I had to buy a bigger hair claw. I'd been buying the same size for years!

I first noticed that my hair was taking longer to dry under the hooded drier at the salon. In the past, I could get up after 45 min, and now I was realizing that i needed a full hour. That was the first inclination that my hair was possibly getting thicker or longer.....

Then the Dominican women at the salon began to comment on the change.... in the past, the only thing they would say was: "Mami, your hair is damaged... mami, you need a trim." Now, the Dominican girls who had done my hair in the past but who hadn't seen it in a while, were pointing out the difference.

Finally, on the (rare) occasions that I treat myself to wearing it down, I can see that it is longer from the front, which was always an issue.

when my ends remained as thick as my roots.

the ends were moist and not frizzy anymo.

seeing my hair buldging in my durag

Wow! I wish I was there... ;)

One time when I was fooling with my hair, instead of a nail breaking through a hair strand, my hair would break off part of my nail! LOL! That tells me my hair is super strong!

I've also noticed that since going natural, my hair has been more elastic and thicker!

And your hair is growing long, fast!

For me it was when my hair stopped breaking off when I stopped using heat, almost at the same time. Then I started keeping my hair and ends moisturuized and retaining my length.

For me it was when the front of my hair which had never grown below nose length grew to breast length. Also my sides were always shorter than the rest of my hair and grew to brastrap. Most importantly, my natural hair had a brillant sheen and softness, and stayed moisturized from wash to wash without adding oils or moisturizers. It became very manageable. I'm not a big fan of oils or moisturizers so I rarely use them. I also knew when people started commenting constantly on my hair's high sheen, length, and how healthy my hair looks.

I knew my hair was in better condition when the shed hairs would be whole, not split anywhere. This indicated that my hair had virtually no breakage. Also, my strands would stretch instead of break, so I knew the elasticity was greater. I noticed these improvements after going natural.

Whne people started telling me how much a turn around my hair has made. When my mom stopped descibing my hair as rough dry. When people stopped complimenting me on my hair and started asking me questions about what I do to it. I noticed myself that when someones hair looks good you say "Oh your hair looks nice today." But when it looks healthy I ask "What do you use on your hair."
