How can you have control over your destiny if it is always going to be God's will?

As humans, we all have free will, we choose whether to follow our own desires or whether to choose to follow God. If you choose to follow God, then you are recognising that He is God, that He knows what is best, you are trusting that He cares for you, therefore, you are able to give Him total control of your life, and follow Him into your destiny.
Read Jeremiah 29:11, hope this helps.

AMEN!! God is one sure person who never ever leave you are let you down. Although life will not be perfect. God has the power to turn everything about our lives the good things, the bad things and the ugly things into the sweetest and greatest blessing. God will ONLY give you the BEST that He has to offer. :)

Thank you for your time.

By getting up first thing in the morning and acknowledging Him by thanking Him for the day or say something to that effect. Then make sure you have time in the morning for prayer and reading your bible if possible. If you cannot do both in morning do the prayer and read the bible later in the day. Stay close to God in prayer and His word. Also, try to make sure you have Church to fellowship in and serve His people with the talents He gave you. Surrond yourself around godly people. Take one day at a time God will instruct just trust me on this one. You do not have to worry how or what He will do just trust Him and He will take it from there. God must be first in your life and everything else second. This does not mean to drop other things but learn to prioritize and have balance in your life. Always look at what you are doing and how that can glorfy or make Him happy. :D

Yes, you must listen to what He has to say, it's in the word, it's in your heart, sometimes it is given to other people (ministers, family, friends, children) at the strangest times and relayed to you. God has a way of speaking to us that opens our minds, for example, the Bible, many people refer to it as BASIC INSTRUCTION BEFORE LEAVING EARTH, you have tons of instructions in the Bible. But sometimes, although you should always refer to the Book, you have other means of receiving messages from your Authority Figure, God. This reminds me of last night when I was helping my nephew with his homework (gosh there is a blessing in almost everything now that I really think about it), he was working on a math work sheet that was handed out in class. I kept telling him, Marcus, use your book, there is nothing on this paper that isn't in this book, even the corners of the pages had the Lesson number and everything (but I don't think that was exact, may have been a newer book, but it still had the same problems in the book), but instead, he wanted the shortcut, and ironically when you would say a problem out loud to him, he would begin to unravel it himself, but I believe that was because the teacher had been instructing him on how to solve the problems, it was highly apparent that he wasn't using the book. I say this to say, he relied on me, to help him with finding the answers, (which I was able to do so on some of them, but I still kept having to go back to the book, because I didn't know everything and forgot some things), then he relied on my sister, and then he tried to do it on his own again, but he never really read the book like I suggested to him. Not reading the book left him with some blank answers still, it also left him with some wrong answers, because he did not read the examples thouroughly. It is good to get advice from others, and sometimes God will reveal things He has for you through someone else, but to know what He really has in store for you is to read the Book and that is some advice I need to take heed of more and more. Now when you combine your experience with what the Book has to offer, then you really have some power because letting Him lead you and being in His will is being obedient to His Word. When you follow the instructions, of the math book, the English book, etc, then you should not go wrong, when the book is right. You are controlling your own destiny, because when you start to make A's in those classes or start improving, you see a change in your life, when you are flunking, there are only minimal places to go, you can drop out of school (or take a downward turn) or decide to make an imporvement somewhere in your life, when you begin to follow the instructions and begin to improve your possibilities become infinite.

After posting the previous message, ironically, I passed by a church in my neighborhood, the marquee said, "When All Else Fails, Read the Instructions."

Just to clarify - God's will and God's orders are two entirely different things. God ordered us not to cheat, lie, steal and so on but He WILLED for some of us to do that. Our will, even though it's free, does not override what God had already willed for us.

To answer the question about destiny, this can get confusing because people mean different things when they talk about destiny. We have free will, we can make choices and we can choose to obey God or not, we can chose to do right or wrong, get up or lay down or anything we want. That's what some people call "control over destiny". But whatever we end up choosing, is what He willed for us. What this means is, whatever is realized in this world, meaning what ever happens or whatever comes to fruition (good, bad and indifferent), is because God willed it. You or I or anyone may have chosen something, but the fact that it actually happens, is by God's will.

So control over destiny is referring to having free will to choose what you want. But at the end of the day, if what you want was realized (ie it happened), then that is what God had willed. Everything that has happened in this world happened because He willed it, and what He did not will, has not and will never happen. If what you chose does not happen, that's because He did not will it.

In summary we can make choices but we cannot exceed or go beyond what God had willed for us.

Hope this helps!!
