How can I get my hair to do this?

I normally wear a weave with 22" black hair (brazilian remy) but it's normally straight
How can I achieve waves like in the video?
I've tried doing braidouts but the waves come out sharper/crinkled (for lack of a better word).
I was thinking maybe twists or something?
