How can I fix a lousy roller set?

I was psyched on Friday because of my new products and how well they seemed to work when my hair was wet (Jason's Biotin Shampoo, Keracare Humecto). My hair was bouncy and fluffy on Saturday am when I took down my wrap. I could tell that the roots were puffy but since it was soft and cute, I didnt mind too much. Now, it's flat and yuck. I tried my usual moisturizers (Headdress and essential oils) but that didnt help with the puffy roots and style. I used my new ceramic flat iron for the first time. Its straight with puffy roots and shapeless/styless. Is there a way I can fix it without washing or rinsing again? I was thinking of misting my hair with distilled water until drenched and then rollersetting again....does this work? Or do I have to go thru the whole poo/conditioner thing again? Any suggestions would be great, ladies...I love this board...even when things dont turn out the way I want them to !

I'd say try the re-wetting and roller setting. You really don't have to go through the whole washing process unless you really want to.

Thanx ms. ken...I ended up doing a braid-out/straight in the front combo that I use when my relaxer is old...I plan to re-wet and re-set on Tuesday nite.

Hi Lunalight,

Next time when you rollerset, try a heavy serum or balm (like the JOhn Frieda texture correcting serum) on your hair while it is soaking wet. This should eliminate the "puffiness."

To fix that rollerset (I know that you have fixed already) I would have mixed some oil with a little serum and put this in my hair. Then I would take one large roller and rolled the hair on the crown of my head, then wrap the rest of the hair around the roller.

HTH for the future.

Yes, just mist it again and then roll it up...do not add anymore product or you will have a build up. Also don't mist the entire head first...mist each section as you roll it.
